'What's with the bird?'

One of our frequently asked questions:
'What type of bird is on Zanzitaxi's logo?'.
The answer: the logo is inspired by a collared sunbird (Hedydipna Collaris), a common bird on the Zanzibar Archipelago. Sunbirds are a group of very small but beautiful Old World passerine birds which feed largely on nectar. The link with Zanzitaxi? The flight of the sunbird is fast and direct. ;)

Nakupenda (Swahili for 'I love you') is the name of an amazing sandbank located just off Stone town. One of Zanzitaxi's tours combines a visit to Prison Island’s giants tortoises before heading out to this magical place; truly the stuff that dreams are made of!
