Domestic tourist statistics in developed countries like USA accounts for about Four to Five times the international tourism (Honey,1999). Australia domestic tourism is thee times more of international tourism (Shea et all,1993).
A third of Tanzania's area is under protectiin with 16 National parks,17 game reserves, 3 marine parks, 15 marine reserves plus many forest reserves hosting World class biodiversity, wildlife and unique ecosystems.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), receives over ten times the number of tourists of the most visited park in the South (REGROW)
Lessons.
Conservation should be transformed into sustainable economic benefits by the residents.
Support infrastructures (roads, airports,investments by private sectors, others), policies, are key for development.
Marketing, specialised, specific and on-point message.
