I can't believe these spots are so close to the city! 💙 If you want to escape the hustle of Taipei, you need to head to the North Coast. The ocean views are honestly therapeutic.

Here is the ultimate itinerary for the perfect day trip:

📍 Zhilan Park: The "Sky Path" above the sea. It feels like you're walking right into the ocean.
📍 Tiaoshi Bus Stop: This cute bus stop is viral for a reason. Red roof + blue ocean = perfect photo op. 📸
📍 Yinyang Sea: Nature’s palette! The water is literally split into gold and blue colors.
📍 Liandong Elementary School: Total hidden gem. The stairs leading down to the sea give off major Japanese anime vibes (like Your Name!).
📍 Yehliu Geopark: You have to see the Queen's Head rock formation at least once. It’s iconic.
📍 Shen’ao Rail Bike: The only place in Taiwan where you can pedal a cute rail bike along the coast! 🐡

💡 Travel Tip: Public transport to these spots can be tricky and slow. We booked a private charter with to hit all 6 spots in one day without stress. AC, comfy seats, and zero waiting for buses! 🚗✨

Okay, we need to talk about convenience stores in Taiwan. 🇹🇼 They are actually elite. Like, forget everything you know about 7-Eleven in the States because Taiwan is on a whole other level.

If you’re visiting, do not sleep on these local favorites. Here is the exact list you need to copy:

🍜 The Noodles:
- Man Han Feast: This isn't just cup noodles; it has real chunks of beef in it. It's life-changing.
- Hua Diao Chicken Noodles: Smells amazing (thanks to the rice wine pouch) and tastes like a restaurant meal.

🧃 The Drinks:
- Papaya Milk: It sounds random, but just trust me. It’s iconic.
- Milk Tea: Look for the green carton (Drinking Room/飲冰室茶集). It’s the perfect sweetness.

🍦 Desserts & Snacks:
- Microwave Spicy Chicken: Ready in 2 minutes and honestly better than some takeout.
- FamilyMart Soft Serve: The flavors change every month and they are always aesthetic.
- Uni-President Pudding: The texture is perfection.

💡 Travel Tip: Want to explore Taiwan comfortably? We booked a private charter with . Our driver took us everywhere, and we had plenty of space to stash our convenience store hauls! 🚗

First time to Tamsui (Danshui)? Here’s the exact route locals recommend—easy to follow by MRT, ferry, bike, or a comfy private car if you’d rather skip transfers.

📍 Start: Tamsui Old Street
Take the Taipei Metro Red Line to MRT Tamsui Station—Old Street begins right outside. Try the classics: A-gei, fish ball soup, and iron eggs along Zhongzheng Rd by the riverside.

🏛 Heritage trio (1 ticket covers 3 sites)
• Fort San Domingo (紅毛城) – hilltop views + the former British Consulate.
• Little White House (海關稅務司官邸) – 19th-century customs residence with gorgeous verandas.
• Hobe Fort (滬尾砲台) – Qing-era fort with coastal outlooks.
Hours generally 09:30–17:00 (weekdays), 09:30–18:00 (weekends), last entry 30 mins before closing; closed most first Mondays/major holidays. A single museum ticket is valid for all three.

🎓 Detour: Aletheia University (Oxford College)
George Leslie Mackay’s historic Oxford College sits on campus—lovely red-brick architecture and a peaceful walk between the heritage sites.

🌅 Sunset pick: Fisherman’s Wharf & Lover’s Bridge
Ride the Danhai LRT Seaside Line to Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf Station, or take the river ferry from Old Street; the bridge is stunning at dusk. (Area is open 24/7.)
⛴ Ferry tips
Tamsui ⇄ Bali runs all day (≈7–10 min; frequent), and Tamsui ⇄ Fisherman’s Wharf runs later in the day—great for sunset hops.

🚲 Easy bike option
YouBike docks are around the MRT/LRT stations—unlock via the official app.

Want to skip bag-lugging and connections? Book a One Taiwan Trip private car—door-to-door drops between each stop, space for snacks/souvenirs, and flexible timing if you fall in love with a view.

👗 Boutique crawl: East District (Zhongxiao Dunhua → Fuxing)
Cafés + indie labels above ground, and the East Metro Underground Street connects stations with long rows of budget-friendly shops. Nearest MRT: Zhongxiao Fuxing / Dunhua.

💎 Luxe malls: Xinyi District
Hop between Taipei 101 Mall and the SKM Xinyi cluster via skywalks—designer brands, food halls, and cinemas all in one zone. Nearest MRT: Taipei 101/World Trade Center or City Hall.

🖥 Gadgets & cameras: Guanghua Digital Plaza + Syntrend
Six floors of computer parts, laptops, keyboards, and hobby tech at Guanghua—then cross to Syntrend for themed floors and creator gear.

Rack-after-rack of fashion at wholesale prices near Houshanpi MRT. Go earlier in the week for calmer browsing.

🫖 Heritage finds: Dihua Street (Dadaocheng)
Tea, traditional snacks, textiles, herbs, and gorgeous historic shopfronts—perfect for gifts.

🌿 Weekends only: Jianguo Flower & Jade Markets
Under the Jianguo overpass—flowers on one side, jade/stone market on the other (Sat/Sun & holidays). Nearest MRT: Daan Park.

Little tip: Pair neighborhoods (Ximending → East District → Xinyi) to minimise backtracking, then slot in Dihua or Jianguo on another day.

Want zero bag-lugging and no route planning? Book a One Taiwan Trip private car—multiple stops, space for shopping hauls, and door-to-door drops.

If you’re coming to Taipei, bring an empty suitcase. Seriously. ✈️

Everyone knows about the night markets, but the local fashion scene here is totally slept on. We went to the best shopping districts (Zhongshan & Xinyi) to check out the Top 3 brands that every stylish Taiwanese girl wears.

Here’s the tea on where to shop:

✨ AIR SPACE: If you need a swimsuit, go here. Their bikinis are famous for being super supportive (iykyk). Plus, their dresses are giving major vacation vibes.
✨ D+AF: The aesthetics in this store are everything. They have the cutest boots and loafers that actually look expensive but are super wallet-friendly.
✨ NET: Think of this as the Taiwanese version of Uniqlo/H&M but even more affordable. It’s perfect for basics and you can literally find everything here.

📍 Where to find them: Hit up Qsquare, Xinyi District, Zhongxiao, or the super trendy Zhongshan area.

💡 Pro Tip: Shopping in Taipei involves a lot of walking. We booked a private car with One Taiwan Trip so we could drop our bags off in the van between stops. It made the day so much easier! 🚗💨
