The rules:
1. Use designated crossings if thereโ€™s a zebra crossing, footbridge, or underpass within 15 meters.
2. Obey the lights:
- Red man = donโ€™t start crossing
- Flashing green man = donโ€™t start crossing either; only finish if youโ€™re already on the road. Starting on a flashing green can get you fined.
3. No diagonal crossing in L-shaped pedestrian zones.

The penalty:
- Fixed penalty ticket is HK$2,000.
