Please be advised, the last flight before the Christmas Holiday is scheduled for Friday 18th December to meet deliveries.

Additionally, our Closures and Re-openings will be as follows for the remainder of the season and year:

December 24th Christmas Eve – Closure at 12 noon
December 25th Christmas Day – Closed
December 26th Boxing Day – Closed
December 28th to 30th – Open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
December 31st Old Year’s Day – Closed

Regular operations will resume on January 04th 2020.

Job Title: Brokerage Assistant
Duties and responsibilities
• Follow-up with shipping agents / freight forwarder / shipping line for updates on incoming shipments.
• Send emails with updates to clients on incoming shipments and confirmed clearance.
• Liaising with respective warehouses / port of clearance for rent and / or handling fee for clearance.
• Costing for corporate clients.
• Completion of daily Clearance Schedule for corporate and forwarded via e-mail by 3.00pm daily.
• Printing and copying of expected shipments from respective customers.
• Apply for petty cash via vouchers.
• Assigning of containers in NAVIS.
• Coordinating with freight department on operational and administrative support.
• Coordinating of transport for brokerage clearances (LCL / FCL).
• Support for TURBO BROKER, ACE.
• Support for ASDYCUDA.
• Filing of department documents
• Coordinate documentation for sign up of new Brokerage clients
• Assist with answering and routing of incoming calls.
• Perform any other duties required in the best interest of the organization
Qualifications:
Customs Grade 1 will be an asset
5 CXC passes (Math and English included)
Computer literate with skill in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid Drivers license

Job Title: Brokerage Clerk

Duties and responsibilities

Calculating and processing duties and taxes to be paid and may be required to sign documents under a Power of Attorney on behalf of the client. Pay or arrange payment of taxes and duties.
Liaising with customers on their shipments.
Preparing worksheets onto specialized customs software, and preparing customs entries in ASYCUDA (Customs).
Allocating the correct license depending on the type of goods importing or exporting.
Attend meeting with Customs Officials in the application of duty refunds and tariff reclassification as appropriate and assist with any appeals that is forthcoming.
You will be required to be fully conversant with import and export laws and regulations. You must maintain your understanding and keep up-to-date with changes as they occur, so as to be able to advise customers on import and export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements and all other customs related matters.
The customs clearance clerk will post bonds for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds. You will also be required to prepare necessary import documents.
The job also requires you to liaise with officials in various agencies to ensure goods are cleared through customs.
Physical clearance at various bonds, paying for and collecting deliveries needed for clearance from agents.
Assist in the coordination of transportation (LCL / FCL)
Perform any other duties required in the best interest of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Customs Grade 1
Must have experience in TURBO Program, Customs ASYCUDA and clearances at the various Ports of Entry
5 CXC passes (Math and English included)
Computer literate with skill in Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid Driver's license
Reliable Vehicle will be an asset

Dear Valued Customers,
We would like to remind everyone of the importance of requesting that an invoice accompanies your packages. This will allow us to be more precise in manifesting the correct values being brought forth to the customs officers so that you would be justifiably charged customs Duty, VAT and OPT. Please keep in mind, Trans Express would have to adhere to the officers estimated value at their discretion in absence of relevant documentation for individual packages in order to clear cargo.
In the absence of invoices, packages are subject to charges customs officers deem fit to be placed on packages and also possible upliftment.
Reminder to all customers also that on confirmation of purchases you can track your individual packages using your “MAGAYA” Username and Password @ https://tracking.magaya.com/
