Rains have resumed along the S.S Erin Road and low levels of passable water reported along the road.

Rivers at Suchit Trace and Big Apple, Debe remain at threshold with the possibility of further flooding if rains continue.

Heavy traffic also reported in both directions.

JusCall Tips: Flooded Car Problems
Flood waters can significantly damage your car's mechanics.
PLEASE AVOID DRIVING THROUGH FLOOD WATERS.

If you've stalled or your car was washed over by flood waters, consider the following:

1) Wheel bearings/Velocity Joints
Driving through flood waters where the majority of your wheel is covered can affect your wheel bearings. Pay attention to any noises/knocking on your front end.

2) Engine
Check your oil & transmission dipsticks for signs of water. If yes, DO NOT START YOUR ENGINE. Your fluids will have to be changed and your engine dried completely.
Also examine your air filters and remove your spark plugs.

3) Gas Tank
If you suspect that water may have entered your fuel system, do not attempt to start your vehicle. Cleaning of the system will be required.

4) Electrical Systems
If water came into contact with your fuse box/wiring harness, consult an auto electrician to address the issue. Remove your battery as a precaution.

The Godineau River has broken its banks and is causing MASSIVE flooding and traffic along the S.S Erin Road.

Our good friend Vas V Bas has this to say:

"Debe is currently impassable. Godineau river has broken its banks and there is gridlock, standstill traffic everywhere. DO NOT TRY ANY BACK ROADS. Even the main road is blocked. Stay by a friend or family. People are currently stuck in their vehicles for hours and barely moving."
