Learn more about this important MISSION. The multi-phase, mega-project will culminate in a fully pressure relieved dry dock facility capable of accommodating shipyard repair services for the new Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, current Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, and other surface and subsurface ships.

Modern ships require modern dry docks.

The Multi-Mission Dry Dock at PSNS & IMF on the Waterfront at Naval Base Kitsap (NBK)-Bremerton is a key part of the Navy's comprehensive, long-term recapitalization efforts at PSNS & IMF under the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP). The new dry dock and its associated utilities, crane system, pier, and support facilities will accommodate current and future ships and submarines, including the new Gerald R. Ford class of aircraft carriers.

The Navy needs to upgrade and improve the shipyard’s capabilities and capacities to ensure PSNS & IMF can continue to meet its important mission to maintain, modernize, and retire the Navy’s nuclear-powered fleet into the foreseeable future.

HELP OUR BIRDS THROUGH THE HEAT!

As Trinidad & Tobago experiences this period of intense heat, our wild birds are also feeling the effects. Species such as the beautiful “Blue Jean” (Thraupis episcopus) depend on natural sources of food, water and shelter, which can become increasingly scarce during very hot conditions.

If you have a garden or outdoor space, consider placing a shallow container of clean, fresh water somewhere safe and shaded. You can also offer small amounts of fresh, bird-friendly fruit such as banana, papaya, mango or other locally available fruits.

- Change the water regularly and keep containers clean.
- Remove uneaten fruit before it spoils.
- Where possible, plant native fruiting and flowering trees and shrubs to provide long-term food and shelter.

Our wildlife shares this island with us. During extreme heat, a little help from each of us can make a difference.

Protect our birds. Protect our biodiversity. Protect Trinidad & Tobago.
