How do you think it’s coming along ?

“In this photo, I am at the stage where I have completed the reinforced concrete slab and am preparing the reinforced concrete columns for pouring. I have installed timber formwork around each column and secured it with diagonal bracing to keep the forms plumb and stable. The reinforcing steel extends above the forms to connect with the future beams and roof structure.

concrete slab placement and finishing stage of a residential construction project. Here’s a concise first-person description for each image:

Photo 1:
I am finishing the freshly poured concrete slab using a hand float to smooth the surface, remove imperfections, and achieve a level finish before the concrete begins to set.

Photo 2:
I continue hand-finishing the slab while another worker checks the formwork and slab edge to ensure the concrete is level, properly contained, and finished to specification.

Photo 3:
The concrete slab has been completed, and the curing process has begun. The vertical reinforcement bars (rebar) remain exposed, ready for the construction of reinforced concrete columns and walls.

Photo 4:
This corner view highlights the completed slab, concrete block foundation, and reinforced columns. The foundation is now prepared for the next phase of structural construction.

Photo 5:
This close-up shows a reinforced concrete column starter with vertical rebar and stirrups projecting from the slab. These steel reinforcements will be tied into the column reinforcement to provide structural strength and ensure a continuous load path from the foundation to the upper structure.
