Everyone has an opinion about group tours. Some picture giant buses, matching t-shirts, and being rushed from one tourist stop to another.
And honestly...I get it. I love independent travel, too. But after hosting group trips around the world, I’ve learned how different a thoughtfully designed group trip can be.
You book your flight, pack your bag, and show up. The hotels, transportation, guides, and experiences are handled. You have local experts beside you, built-in time to explore on your own, safety in numbers, and experiences you probably never would have found yourself.
But my favorite part has always been the shared experiences. Some travelers come with a partner or friend, some come completely solo. And somewhere between the long travel days, shared meals, incredible views and increasingly weird inside jokes, strangers become friends.
Group travel isn’t better than independent travel. It’s simply a different way to see the world.
And when it’s done thoughtfully, the shared experiences are what make it worth the trip.
