Wat Tham Suea, Kanchanaburi. 🇹🇭

Spent the day at this temple complex today. It’s home to a massive golden Buddha statue that stands about 18 meters tall, pretty impressive scale when you’re standing right under it.

The site is spread out across a hilltop, so there are a few different pagodas you can actually go inside and climb. If you make it to the top levels, you get a clear view of the surrounding rice fields and the river. It’s a good spot to see the layout of the province.

One of the more interesting things to watch was people trying to “ring” the giant gongs near the shrines. It’s not about hitting them; you have to rub the center with your palms to make it hum. Definitely takes a bit of skill most people (myself included) couldn’t get a sound out of it.It’s supposed to be a sign of “m“rit” or a pure heart if you can make it sing.

Worth the stop if you’re in the area.

Even though I managed to cut the top of the picture off. I still like it. The kid looking wistfully into the horizon, wonder what he was thinking. This was at a temple complex not to far from kanchanburi.

Nothing but red dirt and open roads. 🚲💨

Today was all about seeing the real Kanchanaburi. skipped the tour buses and took to the backroads by scooter, and honestly? It’s the only way to travel.

The first thing you notice is the color—the farm fields here are this incredible, rich clay red. 🧱✨ Contrast that against the bright green crops and the big blue sky, and every turn felt like a painting.

We eventually rolled up to the most massive monk statue I’ve ever seen (Phra Buddha Metta Pracha Thai). It literally towers over the trees, looking out across the plains.🙏🧘‍♂️

To end the day, found some local “sticky” waterfalls. Most people only know the erawan ones but there are others 💦 Unlike most falls that are slippery as ice, these limestone rocks have so much grip you can walk right up the rushing water like you have superpowers! It was the perfect 10/10 way to cool off after a long ride.

Kanchanaburi, you keep surprising me. 🇹🇭

The track that breathes history. 🚂🌿

There are train rides that take you from A to B, and then there are rides that take you through time. Crossing the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi on the ‘Death Railway’ is the latter.

Built under unimaginable conditions during WWII, every sleeper laid here tells a story of endurance. As the train slows to a crawl over the creaking wooden viaducts, the humidity of the jungle clings to you, and for a second, the world goes quiet.

It’s beautiful, haunting, and essential.

Tips for your trip: 📍

The Seat: Sit on the left side when departing Kanchanaburi for the best views of the river as you hug the limestone cliffs.

The Timing: Take the morning train. As it just gets hotter and hotter.

Hydration: Take Plenty of water

A lovely escape from the smog and craziness of Bangkok 🌿✨

Kanchanaburi always feels like a breath of fresh air. Famous for the Bridge over the River Kwai, though fun fact ,the bridge there isn’t the one used in the film 🎥 (that was shot in Sri Lanka!).

Still, standing on the real bridge, visiting the museum, and learning about the heartbreaking history of the Death Railway was incredibly moving. A beautiful place with a powerful story.

The Bangkok Art & Culture Centre is a photographer’s playground, its sweeping curves, spiralling walkways, and clean white lines create stunning contrasts against the city’s chaos outside.

Throw back to when going out was a usual activity, discovering new rooftop bars.

These pictures were taken from disco diaries on top of The Mahanakon ( also known as the Lego building) in Bangkok.

If you are a traveller or living there the rooftops are amazing and give great views both day and night. Defiantly worth a visit.

First pic is the boat ride back to the mainland 🚤🌊 bittersweet leaving paradise…

The rest is my fave spot on Koh Kood the beach with that wooden bridge linking sea and jungle. Just stunning ✨

Koh Kood might be Thailand’s 4th largest island, but with only two real roads to scooter on 🤣 it feels untouched, wild, and magical. Loved scampering around and finding that perfect mix of seaside and nature 🌴🌊

Here are some snaps from Koh Kood – hands down one of my favourite islands in Thailand 🌴. It’s hard to put into words just how beautiful the beaches are here… the sand feels like soft, white powder beneath your feet, and the water is so clear it sparkles as the sun dances across it ✨. What I love most is how shallow and calm the sea is – you can walk out for what feels like forever, completely surrounded by turquoise bliss. 🌊

Koh Kood has this untouched charm that makes it feel like a hidden paradise. No crowds, no rush – just peace, nature, and views that make you stop and breathe it all in. Simply stunning.

Spotted a little island off the coast while exploring Koh Mak, so I grabbed a kayak and paddled over. 💦 The water was crystal clear, and I landed on pure white sand… a deserted tropical paradise all to myself. 🏝️✨

If you’re planning a trip to Koh Mak, this makes a perfect little half-day adventure!
