While the pandemic was unpredictable, we managed to consistently deliver on our promises thanks to our dedicated team of experienced professionals and their creative solutions.

For this project, we got involved at the bidding stage by providing an indication of the transport requirements to help our client secure their fabrication order. Because of the pandemic, however, the fabrication was delayed, resulting in space constraints on heavy-lift vessels and an uncertain cargo-readiness date. Thanks to our team's solution of stacking the barges we were able to utilise the limited available space on deck and ensure all arrangements smoothly matched our client's shipping needs.

Committed to solutions-oriented, personalised services, our FLS Solutions team successfully delivered a timely project under some very strict requirements.

From receiving the customer’s order to the shipment of the finished products, we had just 9 weeks. In this time, we tackled the challenge of transferring the end user’s specifications and drawings to Korea while ensuring very low tolerance margins of the finished products. Our experts also oversaw the forging of the raw material, high precision custom machined tube sheet, baffles and flanges, quality control and packing.

As experts in crafted solutions, we believe in the power of flexibility and creativity. Following this philosophy, we recently delivered 8 HSRG modules and spare parts from Shanghai, China, to Singapore - by connecting the shipper, receiver and supplier to meet a critical timeline despite harsh covid restrictions and heavy congestion in China.

FLS booked the vessel MV FU QIANG and arranged floating cranes at origin and destination to lift the cargo from the pier into the hold and on deck. While our engineers calculated the precise requirements of the crane capacity, we had to be flexible with the crane supplier because of the unknown vessel berth timing. We also communicated closely with the shipper and receiver to make sure the cargo was available on-the-spot and limit the stand-by time of SPMT equipment. China’s covid restrictions did not allow our representative on board, as is our standard, however, we still arranged for our staff to supervise from the pier.

Another logistics puzzle was recently solved by FLS Projects Singapore, together with Tschudi Logistics Sweden, and FLS Projects Thailand. This time we chartered an AN-124 to airfreight a core engine for a power plant construction project from Gothenburg, Sweden, to Utapao, Thailand.

The project had tight timelines - an idle to aircraft had to be avoided at each airport at any cost. Our perfect synchronization of manpower, equipment and paperwork started with a faultless night loading operation, despite a freezing cold temperature of -10°C, in Sweden and finished with offloading the cargo from the aircraft in Thailand within just 1 day.
As well as chartering the aircraft, FLS arranged for mobile cranes to place the transport skid delicately on the ramp before the core engine was precisely positioned. Once aligned, a pulley system reeled the cargo to its final orientation in the aircraft before it was lashed down with chains.

The initial apprehensions of our client (it was their first air charter) were appeased by clockwork ex*****on; on schedule and without incident.
