This is Day 1 of my biggest Thai journey yet - 3000 kilometres from the southernmost border of Thailand all the way up to Chiang Mai. 16 days. Two motorcycles. And one question I had to answer for myself:

Everyone told me to ride Thailand. Nobody mentioned what's just across the southern border.
So I packed the bike and found out for myself — Langkawi, Penang, border chaos, Ramadan surprises, traffic that plays by completely different rules. And yes, a berry that made a lemon taste sweet.
