If I were starting over and wanted to ride a motorbike in Thailand or anywhere else, I'd do one thing differently.

I wouldn't look for answers on blogs.

I'd find people who had already been there.

Nine years ago, that's exactly how I met Angkana — through Couchsurfing. She had a photo on a motorbike in her profile. We connected instantly. She gave me rental tips, local knowledge, things I never would have found online. We've been in touch ever since.

And today? Angkana is a moto tour guide — and also a guide behind Borderless Female Bikers.

If you're just starting out, here's where I'd look:
👉 People — through groups, Couchsurfing, social media. One message to the right person changes everything.

👉 Facebook groups — are you already in "Foreign Motorcycle Riders Thailand (F.M.R.T)" group?

👉 Tours — there aren't many good ones out there yet. But they exist.

Gry rides in Europe. Experienced rider. Confident on familiar roads, familiar weather, familiar rules.

Thailand wasn't even on her radar. Then she stumbled across my post in a women's moto group. Something clicked. Not a plan — more like a question she couldn't shake.
"Could I do this?"

Lost my physical insurance document two days before the Malaysian border crossing. 📄

The insurance was valid — but the ticket? Gone. And I had no idea if they’d ask for it at the border.

15 minutes and one office later, problem solved. Whether they would have stopped me without it — I still don’t know.

🌸 Most women who join this tour have one thing in common: they want to grow - as a person and as a rider.

If you've been riding in Europe for a season or two, and somewhere in the back of your mind there's this thought — what if I tried something bigger? But Asia feels like a different category entirely. Too chaotic. Too far. Too much to figure out alone.
That's exactly the gap this tour fills.

🏔️ Northern Thailand has some of the best mountain roads I've ridden. Smooth tarmac, switchbacks with views, zero lorries, coffee stops every 40 km. But more than the roads — it's the fact that you leave Chiang Mai on day one slightly nervous, and you arrive back seven days later knowing you handled it.

Not because someone held your hand. Because the logistics were sorted, the route was calibrated to your level, and you had a licensed guide who'd ridden these roads more times than she can count.

You don't need to be an expert. You need one season behind you and the right setup around you.

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑰 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒂 7-𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅. 🏍️

It started with short loops around Chiang Mai. Solo rides, no plan, just curiosity. Over time I found places that weren't on any itinerary I'd seen. I started creating my own and when I talked about my adventures, people wanted to come.

The process is always the same.

🗺️ I go back to my memories first. Then Google Maps — scanning roads, checking Street View for road quality, clicking every pin in the area, going through photos and comments. Dozens of points. I save them into my bucket list.

🏍️ Then I ride it. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a group. When we're out there, I watch the faces of my friends or women who travelled to see Thailand on 2 wheels with me. That tells me more than anything.

🔄 Then I ride it again. And each time something shifts — a better stop, a road I almost missed, something that sounded good and didn't deliver. Until one day the route becomes perfect.

🤝 The final itinerary goes through my local guide — logistics, permits, ground knowledge. That's what turns my experiences into an amazing 7-day tour for women coming from all over the world.
