🚨 Here’s the brutal reality behind the scenes:
• PAWS runs on a tiny team: just our dedicated cleaning/care staff and one incredible vet. They all depend on salaries we pay every single month. No donations = no paychecks.
• Our shelter is a rented old shophouse. On top of rent and utility bills, it constantly needs repairs that come straight out of our own funds.
• We rescue multiple cats every week, always focusing on the ones who need us most: the sick, injured strays.
• Even after slashing new intakes to the bone, costs have exploded from recent kitten sickness outbreaks, forcing emergency hospitalizations we couldn’t avoid.
• Every single rescue gets full exams, vaccines, deworming, and neutering. So many more need IV fluids, antibiotics, or weeks in hospital/isolation quarantine.
• Our inboxes overflow daily with desperate messages: “Please save this cat!” They come from kind strangers who’ve never donated, never shared a post, but we answer as many as we can, giving advice if we can’t directly help, because we have to. We just can’t keep going alone.
• All new cat rescues are PAUSED until these bills are cleared ❌ No exceptions.
• Food supplies are running dangerously low, and our monthly donors have hit record lows after changes on the GiveAsia platform.
