จากคลองเก่าในพระนคร สู่ป่าชายเลนริมอ่าวไทย จากเมืองท่าริมแม่น้ำ สู่อดีตราชธานีอยุธยา ทุกจังหวะของไม้พายจะพาคุณค้นพบเรื่องราว ประวัติศาสตร์ และผู้คนที่ซ่อนอยู่ริมฝั่งน้ำ

ระยะทางโดยประมาณ 4.5 km.
หนึ่งในเส้นทางที่เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องราว หากเราลองตั้งคำถามกับ “วันวาน” จะพบว่าสิ่งที่เคยรุ่งเรืองในอดีต ยังทิ้งร่องรอยให้เราได้เห็นจนถึงปัจจุบัน
"คลองโอ่งอ่าง" เคยเป็นย่านการค้าทางน้ำสำคัญของกรุงเทพฯ ชื่อของคลองมาจากร้านค้า “โอ่ง–อ่าง” เครื่องปั้นดินเผาที่เรียงรายอยู่ริมคลอง ซึ่งในอดีตสามารถมองเห็นได้ตั้งแต่ระยะไกล
พื้นที่แห่งนี้เติบโตจากตลาดริมน้ำ สู่ชุมชนการค้าใจกลางเมืองเก่า สะพานไม้ที่เคยหมุนเปิดให้เรือผ่าน ปัจจุบันกลายเป็นสะพานปูน สะท้อนการเปลี่ยนผ่านของยุคสมัย ที่ยังคงทิ้งร่องรอยให้เราได้จินตนาการ
เมื่อพายลอด สะพานผ่านฟ้า เสมือนการพลิกหน้าหนังสือประวัติศาสตร์ เข้าสู่ย่าน บางลำพู
ย่านพานถมในอดีตเคยเป็นชุมชนช่างฝีมือ และเป็นด่านหน้าสำคัญของเกาะรัตนโกสินทร์
คลองบางลำพูโดดเด่นด้วยตลิ่งอิฐมอญสีแดง ซึ่งถือว่าสวยงามและสมบูรณ์ที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งในกรุงเทพฯ ในฤดูร้อน สองฝั่งคลองจะถูกแต่งแต้มด้วย ดอกหางนกยูงสีแดงส้มที่ผลิดอกพร้อมกันตลอดแนวคลอง สายน้ำโค้งยาว ทำหน้าที่เป็นทั้งเส้นทางสัญจร และแนวขอบเมืองมาตั้งแต่ครั้งเริ่มสร้างกรุง
นี่คือเส้นทางพายที่อยากชวนทุกคนมาสัมผัส“ถนนสายคลอง” ของกรุงเทพฯ เมืองเก่า

กรุงเทพฯ ไม่ได้เริ่มต้นจากถนนใหญ่หรือรถไฟฟ้า แต่เริ่มจาก “คูเมืองและสายน้ำ” ทริปนี้จะพาคุณพายเลาะเลียบแนวขอบเมืองตั้งแต่ช่วงเริ่มสร้างกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ ต่อเนื่องมาถึงยุครัชกาลที่ 4 — ช่วงเวลาที่เมืองกำลังขยายตัวและเปิดรับโลกภายนอก
เราจะพายไปตาม คลองผดุงกรุงเกษม คลองสำคัญที่ขุดขึ้นในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 เพื่อขยายเขตพระนคร ทำหน้าที่เป็นทั้ง “ปราการป้องกันเมือง” และ “เส้นทางคมนาคมหลัก” คลองสายนี้เปรียบเสมือน “กำแพงเมืองชั้นนอก”เชื่อมต่อแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาฝั่งเหนือที่ เทเวศร์ ฝั่งใต้ที่ วัดแก้วฟ้า
ในอดีต ที่นี่คือเส้นเลือดของเมือง วันนี้…เราจะพายตามรอยเส้นเลือดนั้น ตลอดเส้นคลองเกือบทั้งสาย เราจะได้ชมภาพเมืองกรุงเทพฯ จากมุมมองระดับผิวน้ำ มุมที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็น “ถนนสายหลัก” ของผู้คน

ออกเดินทางสู่ "ชายแดนด้านใต้ของกรุงเทพฯ" ดินแดนที่เมืองหลวงค่อย ๆ เปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ป่าชายเลนและอ่าวไทย
ทริปนี้ "พาไปพาย" จะพาคุณลัดเลาะไปตาม คลองสรรพสามิต และเครือข่ายคลองสายเล็กที่ซ่อนตัวอยู่ท่ามกลางผืนป่าจากและป่าชายเลน ระบบนิเวศสำคัญที่ช่วยปกป้องชายฝั่งและเป็นแหล่งอนุบาลสัตว์น้ำของอ่าวไทย แม้จะอยู่ห่างจากใจกลางกรุงเทพฯ ไม่ถึงชั่วโมง แต่บรรยากาศกลับเงียบสงบ ราวกับหลุดออกไปอีกโลกหนึ่ง
เราจะเริ่มพายในช่วงพระอาทิตย์ขึ้น แสงแรกของวันสะท้อนผิวน้ำที่นิ่งสงบ ผ่านชุมชนชาวประมงดั้งเดิมที่ยังคงดำรงวิถีชีวิตผูกพันกับสายน้ำ ผู้คนในพื้นที่ยังใช้เรือเป็นพาหนะหลักในการออกทะเล ทำประมงพื้นบ้าน และสัญจรระหว่างคลองเช่นเดียวกับเมื่อหลายสิบปีก่อน
ไฮไลต์ของทริปคือการพายข้ามเขตจังหวัด จาก บางขุนเทียน กรุงเทพมหานคร สู่ ตำบลสาขลา จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ เพื่อชม เจดีย์เอียงวัดสาขลา เจดีย์เก่าแก่ที่ค่อย ๆ เอียงจากการทรุดตัวของดินเลนอ่อนริมอ่าวไทย จนกลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของชุมชน สะท้อนทั้งพลังของธรรมชาติและการปรับตัวของผู้คนที่อาศัยอยู่กับแผ่นดินชายฝั่งมาอย่างยาวนาน

ออกเดินทางสำรวจ “กรุงเทพฯ ตอนเหนือ” ผ่านสายน้ำเจ้าพระยา ในเส้นทางที่เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องราวของเมือง อุตสาหกรรม และชุมชนริมน้ำที่เติบโตเคียงคู่แม่น้ำสายนี้มาหลายชั่วอายุคน
ทริปนี้เราจะเริ่มพายจากแนวชายแดนกรุงเทพฯ–นนทบุรี ผ่านย่าน “บางโพ–บางอ้อ” พื้นที่ที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของอุตสาหกรรมไม้และวัสดุก่อสร้างของกรุงเทพฯ ในอดีต ริมน้ำแถบนี้เต็มไปด้วยแพไม้ซุง โรงเลื่อย และโกดังสินค้านับไม่ถ้วน เป็นพื้นที่ที่เชื่อมโยงเศรษฐกิจทางน้ำของเมืองหลวงเข้ากับหัวเมืองทางเหนือผ่านแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา
เมื่อยุคสมัยเปลี่ยนไป จากนโยบายปิดป่า การสร้างเขื่อน และการขยายตัวของเมือง ย่านนี้ก็ค่อย ๆ ปรับเปลี่ยนจากพื้นที่อุตสาหกรรมริมน้ำ กลายเป็นย่านชุมชนเมืองร่วมสมัย ที่ยังคงมีร่องรอยของอดีตซ่อนอยู่ตามตรอก ซอย และบ้านเรือนเก่า
ระหว่างทาง เราจะพายทั้งในคลองและช่วงแม่น้ำเปิดกว้าง สัมผัสบรรยากาศของเจ้าพระยาในมุมที่ทั้งสงบและยิ่งใหญ่ ชมวิว “รัฐสภาแห่งใหม่” และยอดสีทองอร่ามของ “สัปปายะสภาสถาน” จากระดับผิวน้ำ สถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัยที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมไทย ผสมผสานแนวคิดเรื่องจักรวาลและภูเขาพระสุเมรุเข้ากับงานออกแบบสมัยใหม่ได้อย่างน่าสนใจ
เราจะลัดเลาะผ่านชุมชนบางอ้อและบางโพ ที่ยังคงมีกลิ่นอายของวิถีชีวิตริมแม่น้ำ ทั้งท่าเรือเก่า ร้านค้าโบราณ ศาลเจ้า และบ้านไม้ที่สะท้อนความหลากหลายของผู้คน ทั้งชาวไทยเชื้อสายจีน ช่างไม้ และแรงงานริมน้ำที่เคยมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อเศรษฐกิจของเมือง ก่อนแวะพัก เดินเล่น และพูดคุยกับผู้คนในชุมชนริมเจ้าพระยา

แม่น้ำนครชัยศรี หรือแม่น้ำท่าจีน คือหนึ่งในสายน้ำสายประวัติศาสตร์ที่สำคัญที่สุดของภาคกลาง เป็นทั้งเส้นทางคมนาคม การค้า และการแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมที่หล่อเลี้ยงชุมชนริมฝั่งมานานหลายร้อยปี นับตั้งแต่ยุคที่สายน้ำคือ “ถนนสายหลัก” ของผู้คนในลุ่มน้ำภาคกลาง
ทริปนี้จะพาคุณออกเดินทางไปสัมผัสเสน่ห์ของแม่น้ำที่ยังคงสะท้อนร่องรอยความรุ่งเรืองในอดีต ผ่านชุมชนเก่าแก่ที่ก่อตัวขึ้นจากการค้าขายทางน้ำ และการตั้งถิ่นฐานของผู้คนหลากหลายเชื้อสาย ทั้งชาวไทยเชื้อสายจีน ชาวสวน และครอบครัวพ่อค้าริมแม่น้ำที่มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อเศรษฐกิจของพื้นที่

ร่วมออกเดินทางพายเรือรอบ เกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยา เมืองมรดกโลกที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นราชธานีอันรุ่งเรืองที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของเอเชีย ผ่านมุมมองที่ผู้คนในอดีตคุ้นเคยที่สุด—"สายน้ำ"
ตลอดเส้นทาง เราจะพายไปบน สามแม่น้ำสายประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา แม่น้ำลพบุรี และแม่น้ำป่าสัก ซึ่งไหลมาบรรจบกันโอบล้อมเกาะเมือง เครือข่ายสายน้ำเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงปราการธรรมชาติ หากยังเป็นหัวใจของการค้า การคมนาคม และการติดต่อกับนานาอารยประเทศ จนทำให้อยุธยากลายเป็นมหานครนานาชาติในช่วงคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 17
ระหว่างทาง เราจะผ่าน วัดพนัญเชิง วัดสำคัญที่สร้างขึ้นก่อนการสถาปนากรุงศรีอยุธยา และเป็นศูนย์รวมศรัทธาของพ่อค้าชาวจีนมาอย่างยาวนาน ผ่าน ป้อมเพชร ป้อมปราการยุทธศาสตร์ที่ตั้งอยู่บริเวณจุดบรรจบของแม่น้ำ ซึ่งเคยทำหน้าที่ควบคุมการเดินเรือและป้องกันเมืองหลวงจากผู้รุกราน
เส้นทางยังพาคุณผ่าน ชุมชนนานาชาติริมแม่น้ำ ที่สะท้อนความหลากหลายของผู้คนในอดีต ทั้งชุมชนมุสลิม มัสยิดเก่าแก่ และโบสถ์คริสต์ที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของพ่อค้าชาวเปอร์เซีย โปรตุเกส และชาติตะวันตก ซึ่งเคยเข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานและค้าขายในกรุงศรีอยุธยา
จากนั้นเราจะพายผ่าน วัดพุทไธศวรรย์ และ วัดไชยวัฒนาราม โบราณสถานริมแม่น้ำที่งดงามที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทย สถาปัตยกรรมที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากศิลปะเขมรและอยุธยาตอนปลาย สะท้อนภาพเจดีย์และปรางค์ที่ทอดเงาลงบนผิวน้ำยามเช้า เป็นภาพที่นักเดินทางในอดีตเคยพบเห็นเมื่อเรือแล่นเข้าสู่เมืองหลวง
ช่วงท้ายของทริป เราจะลัดเลาะเข้าสู่ คลองเมือง (แม่น้ำลพบุรีสายเก่า) เส้นทางแคบและเงียบสงบที่เรือขนาดใหญ่ไม่สามารถเข้าถึงได้ เปิดโอกาสให้สัมผัสอยุธยาในมุมที่ยังคงบรรยากาศของเมืองโบราณอย่างแท้จริง ผ่านชุมชนริมน้ำ บ้านไม้ และวิถีชีวิตที่ยังดำเนินไปอย่างเรียบง่าย

Ong Ang - Bang lamphu Canal, Bangkok, Paddling Through the Waterways of Old Bangkok
Date: Saturday, 1 August 2026

Distance: approximately 4.5 km.
The paddle route from Khlong Ong Ang to Khlong Bang Lamphu
is a journey filled with stories of the past—where traces of Bangkok’s old waterways still quietly exist today.
Khlong Ong Ang was once one of the city’s most important water-based trading areas. The canal takes its name from the pottery shops selling large jars and basins
that once lined the water’s edge, visible from afar.
What began as a riverside market gradually evolved into a key commercial community in Bangkok’s old town. The wooden swing bridges that once opened for boats have since been replaced by concrete bridges, marking the city’s transition through time while preserving echoes of its past.
Paddling beneath Phan Fa Bridge feels like turning a page in a history book,
leading us into the Bang Lamphu area. In the past, nearby Phan Thom was known as a craftsmen’s quarter and served as a gateway into Rattanakosin Island.
Khlong Bang Lamphu stands out with its red Mon-style brick embankments,
considered among the most beautiful and well-preserved canal walls in Bangkok.
During the summer months, the canal is framed by rows of blooming flame trees
with vibrant red and orange flowers lining the banks. The gently curving waterway once functioned as both a transportation route and a natural boundary of the old city.

Bangkok did not begin with highways or skytrains. It began with moats and waterways. This trip takes you paddling along the historic edge of the old capital, tracing the city’s expansion from the founding of Rattanakosin through the reign of King Rama IV — a pivotal period when Bangkok was growing and opening to the outside world.
We will paddle along Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem, a canal excavated during King Rama IV’s reign to expand the royal city. It served both as a defensive moat and a vital transportation route — effectively the “outer city wall.” The canal connects the Chao Phraya River at Thewet in the north and Wat Kaew Fah in the south.
Once the lifeline of the city, today we paddle in the footsteps of that lifeline — almost the entire length of the canal. From water level, you’ll experience Bangkok from a perspective that once served as the city’s “main road.”

On this Pa Pi Pie paddle adventure, we'll explore Sanphasit Canal and a network of hidden waterways winding through lush nipa palm forests and coastal mangrove ecosystems. These wetlands are among the most important natural habitats along the Gulf, protecting the shoreline while serving as nurseries for countless marine species. Just an hour from downtown Bangkok, you'll find yourself surrounded by peaceful nature and a completely different side of the city.
This route offers a fascinating glimpse into the landscape where Bangkok meets the sea. Elevated wooden houses, small piers, shrines by the water, and tidal canals reveal how people have adapted to life on soft coastal wetlands, where the rhythm of daily life is still guided by the tides.
The highlight of the journey is paddling across provincial boundaries—from Bang Khun Thian, Bangkok, into Sakhla, Samut Prakan—to visit the iconic Leaning Chedi of Wat Sakhla. Paddling the Northern Chao Phraya, Bangkok
Join us on a paddle journey through Northern Bangkok, where the Chao Phraya River reveals stories of industry, migration, architecture, and riverside communities that have evolved alongside the water for generations.
This trip begins along the Bangkok–Nonthaburi border, exploring the historic districts of Bang Pho and Bang O — once one of Bangkok’s most important industrial waterfront zones. In the past, this stretch of river was lined with massive log rafts, sawmills, warehouses, and trading piers, serving as a key hub for timber and construction materials transported down from the northern provinces through the Chao Phraya River.
As Bangkok modernized, forest policies changed, dams were built upstream, and the city expanded, these industrial landscapes slowly transformed into urban riverside neighborhoods. Yet traces of the old river economy still remain hidden within narrow alleys, wooden houses, old piers, and local communities along the water.
During the journey, we paddle through both quiet canals and wide-open sections of the Chao Phraya River, experiencing the contrast between peaceful waterways and the scale of modern Bangkok. One of the highlights is viewing Thailand’s new Parliament building — “Sappaya-Sapasathan” — from water level. Its striking golden spire and monumental architecture blend contemporary design with symbolic references to Mount Meru and traditional Thai cosmology.
We’ll continue past the riverside neighborhoods of Bang O and Bang Pho, areas shaped by Thai-Chinese communities, carpenters, dock workers, and generations of river-based livelihoods. Along the route, you’ll see old shrines, traditional shop houses, wooden homes, and remnants of the city’s industrial past quietly coexisting with modern Bangkok.
Before ending the trip, we’ll stop to explore the local riverside community, take a short walk, and experience the slower rhythm of life along the Chao Phraya.

The Nakhon Chai Si River, also known as the Tha Chin River, is one of Central Thailand’s most important historic waterways. For centuries, it served as a vital transportation route, trade corridor, and cultural lifeline, connecting communities long before roads became the primary means of travel.
This paddle journey invites you to explore the charm of a river that has shaped local life for generations. Along the route, you'll discover historic riverside communities that grew from waterborne trade and settlement, home to diverse cultural influences including Thai-Chinese merchant families, orchard farmers, and traditional riverside residents.
As you paddle downstream, you'll encounter a fascinating variety of architecture—from simple traditional Thai wooden houses and orchard homes to elegant riverside mansions influenced by Western architectural styles during the reigns of King Rama V and King Rama VI. These buildings reflect the prosperity of Nakhon Chai Si during its golden era as a thriving commercial hub along the Tha Chin River.
The riverbanks remain alive with everyday local life: fruit orchards, historic temples, community markets, and working piers that continue to connect people with the water. Together, they create a living cultural landscape that preserves the character and rhythm of a traditional Thai riverside town.
Toward the end of the journey, we will paddle beneath Tha Na Market Bridge, a well-known landmark of the historic riverside community, before concluding our trip in the warm atmosphere of the old market district that continues to define the identity of Nakhon Chai Si.

► Ayutthaya – Paddle Around the UNESCO World Heritage Island

Experience Ayutthaya from the perspective that once defined the kingdom—its waterways.
This unique journey takes you around the UNESCO World Heritage island city of Ayutthaya, following the three historic rivers—the Chao Phraya, Lopburi, and Pa Sak Rivers—which converge to encircle the ancient capital. These waterways were far more than natural defenses; they formed the kingdom's lifeline for trade, transportation, diplomacy, and international commerce, helping transform Ayutthaya into one of Asia's greatest cosmopolitan cities during the 17th century.
Along the route, we'll paddle past Wat Phanan Choeng, a temple built before the founding of Ayutthaya and long revered by Chinese merchants and seafarers. We'll continue to Phet Fortress, a strategically positioned riverside fort that once guarded the city's busiest water gateway and protected the capital from invading fleets.
The journey also passes the historic international settlements, where ancient mosques and century-old Christian churches reflect the multicultural character of Ayutthaya. Persian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and European communities once lived and traded here, making the city one of the world's most vibrant trading ports.
We'll then glide past the magnificent riverside monuments of Wat Phutthaisawan and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, masterpieces of Ayutthaya architecture influenced by Khmer design. Seeing their elegant stupas and prangs mirrored in the calm morning water is an unforgettable sight—much like the first impression that greeted travellers arriving by boat centuries ago.
Towards the end of the journey, we'll enter the Old Lopburi Canal, a peaceful historic waterway too narrow for large boats. Here, surrounded by traditional wooden houses and quiet riverside communities, you'll experience a hidden side of Ayutthaya that few visitors ever discover.
