Seatran Ferry Announces Fare Hikes for Samui and Phangan Routes Effective April 8
SURAT THANI – Seatran Ferry has officially announced an adjustment to its passenger and vehicle fare rates for the popular routes connecting Donsak to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The new rates are set to take effect on April 8, 2026, cited as a necessary move due to the continuous rise in fuel costs.
The company stated that current oil prices have exceeded the operational price ceiling, significantly impacting service costs. To maintain safety standards and service quality, the price adjustment follows the guidelines previously established by the Surat Thani Provincial Announcement dated June 6, 2022.
New Passenger Fare Rates
The adjustments for individual passenger tickets are as follows:
• Donsak – Koh Samui – Donsak: Increased from 230 THB to 250 THB.
• Donsak – Koh Phangan – Donsak: Increased from 300 THB to 320 THB.
Vehicle and Freight Adjustments
Other freight and vehicle rates (including cars, motorcycles, and trucks) will also be adjusted according to the sliding scale based on fuel prices. Under the new schedule, these rates will now follow Column 12 of the company’s official fare table.
For example, on the Donsak – Koh Samui route:
• Standard 4-wheel cars (SUV/Pickup): 790 THB
• Motorcycles: 310 THB
• Large Motorcycles (Big Bikes): 480 THB
Effective Dates & Booking Information
Travelers should take note of the following timeline for the implementation:
• On-site/General Travel: The new rates apply from April 8, 2026, onwards.
• Online Bookings: The updated pricing system will go live earlier, starting April 7, 2026, at 7:30 PM (19:30 hrs).
