UPDATE

Dear Clients.

On the 18th of July, the NRA implemented the Financial Act 2021/2022.

The Financial Act, 2021/2022 rectified the Customs valuation for conversion of merchandise value from USD to SSP, increasing the exchange rate from 45 to 90 SSP per 1 $.

There are also some specific changes made to Customs duties affecting the tariff heading 20.08 (chapter 20), 23.09 (chapter 23), 27.10 (chapter 27)
29.36, 29.37, 28.41 (chapter 29), 30.01-30.06 (chapter 30), 31.01-31.05 (chapter 31), 39.01-39.08 (chapter 39).

As well, there are various changes in all institutions enacted in the Financial Act 2021/2022.

NB: The Customs Valuation rate has been increased by 100% (45-90 per 1 $ ), hence doubling the previous cost of Clearance.

MAERSKLINE TERMINATES PARTNERSHIP WITH DB SCHENKER.

Maersk has terminated its agreement with DB Schenker after the German company attempted to hijack customers from Damco. DB Schenker confirms the break up to ShippingWatch but does not link it to the offer sent to Damco's customers.

A German media reports that CEO Søren Skou was personally involved in the decision to terminate the agreement with DB Schenker.

Maersk is so angry with DB Schenker's attempt to hijack customers that the container line has terminated its agreement with the German logistics company, report several media.

DB Schenker confirms to ShippingWatch that the company's agreement as a major customer with Maersk has ended.

The reason behind Maersk's drastic step, which has allegedly triggered conflict at the highest level at the two companies, is DB Schenker's public attempt to hijack customers from Maersk subsidiary Damco.
