THE DARAH PROJECT

Dieuf Dieul is a very important concept that are deeply embeded in Baye Fall spirituality. Brigad Dieuf Dieul is dedicated to rasing money to farm the land they already own but have not been able to build or or develop fully. The Brigad has specific goals that are outlined below which will increase the health, well-being, and abundance of their community. It is very important that we work together to develop opportunities for employment in Senegal so that the Brigad and their surrounding community can be self-reliant. Your contribution will all go to service the community. Funds are used to purchase food and tools for the Brigad as they work on the land development project. Your help is greatly appreciated and our goals are listed below. DEVELOPMENT PLAN
1 Year Goals
Housing - Finished housing for the Brigad and their families. This project is halfway finished.! See the pictures below. We need donations to buy construction materials. Well - Dig a well so that there is fresh water for drinking, raising livestock and irrigation for the organic farm. Water Pump - The well will need a pump to maintain the fresh water supply. Ideally this will not be a gas powered pump because gas is very expensive and many communities have stopped using water pumps that required gas. Electricity - Work with the electric company to have electricity extended to the village, Toubafall Mbaaye. Tools & Equipment - Raise funds to purchase ploughs, horses, basic tools for farming. Solar Power - because electricity is difficult to obtain, solar power would be ideal as a power source for our community. Yet the panels and equipment is expensive and the knowledge of how to use and install the equipment is neeed. COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT GOALS
Seeds & Farming - Work with the community to start a program for seed saving, recognition and preservation of native plants and seeds. Design a plan for farming and irrigation of crops. Volunteers - Now accepting applications for the Dieuf Dieul tour to Senegal in 2015!. We need farmers, permaculture experts, doctors, nurses, urban planners, musicians, and other people interested in working hard and helping to build community. Medical Center - there is currently no medical care in our village and we have to make a long journey to Dakar if we get sick or injured. We would like to provide basic care to the community. Climate Change - develop a task force that meets regularly to map the native plants and status of the land which has changed over the years to be a very arid and dry place for farming and rasing animals. Cultural Exchange - continue to bring in foreigners to learn the practices of Dieuf Dieul with the Baye Fall community in Senegal. Share our languages, culture and customs. Business - Become a worldwide distributor of freetrade organic, Dieuf Dieul Cafe Touba and Baye Fall clothing. Providing opportunities for the Baye Fall community in Senegal.
