👏We're proud of Assistant Station Manager (ASM) Muhammad Haziq Bin Abu Bakar, who received the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Community First Responder Award for his swift response to a fire onboard a 🟤Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) train heading from Tanjong Rhu to Gardens by the Bay station.

On 21 May 2026, ASM Adzrul noticed a burning smell while on duty. Working quickly, he scanned the train and discovered smoke coming from a power bank in a commuter's handbag. He used the onboard fire extinguisher to put out the flames and reassured commuters. 🧯

🚆At the next station, he guided commuters off the train and helped them board another train. Adzrul remained at the scene until SCDF arrived. 🚒

His actions reflect what "We Love to Help" means: looking for commuters when they need us.

A proud moment for our Woodlands Bus Depot community as we celebrate recognition through the Ministry of Home Affairs’ National Safety and Security Watch Group (NSSWG) Outstanding Individual Award. 👏

Over the past two years, our depot has actively supported SSWG initiatives to strengthen workplace safety, security and emergency preparedness. Behind these efforts is a shared commitment to protecting our people and the premises that keep our buses moving.
