A story worth knowing: At Napier station (TE12), we’re proud to showcase Gleneagles Hospital's journey, from its early beginnings to one of Singapore's leading private hospitals, as part of our Communities in Station programme.

The artwork brings a piece of the community’s story into the daily commute, adding colour and character to Napier station.

Much like the 🟠Circle Line, inclusivity is a circle SMRT draws by joining hands with the communities it serves⭕🤝

With the Circle Line now complete, the loop is closed. 🎉In the same spirit, MINDS looks ahead to its 65th anniversary in 2027, building a community where persons with intellectual disabilities are empowered, valued, and celebrated (no cap!).

Together with the Lions Club of Singapore Lotusia, we are proud to support MINDS in unveiling a special artwork at 🟠Bras Basah station. The artwork, created by its students, is themed around the Circle Line, marking two milestones as one.

Guest of honour Ms Denise Phua Lay Peng, Mayor of Central District and Adviser to Jalan Besar GRC GROs, launched the showcase, alongside SMRT management, MINDS and community partners. Together, they placed the final handcrafted pieces onto the artwork, completing the masterpiece.

🎉Here’s to the countdown to MINDS’ 65th anniversary, and to the journeys ahead to forge new circles. 😀

Recently, volunteers and Caring Commuter Champions joined us at Jurong Community Hospital ( Campus) for a Caring Commuter Workshop, with hands-on practice at Jurong Mobility Park.

The session covered how to support commuters with visible and invisible disabilities, from wheelchair users to commuters living with dementia, through three practical steps: Assess, Ask, Assist.

💛Inclusive public transport is built on more than accessible facilities. These regular workshops are one way we share practical skills with the wider community and put Do Right, Do Good, Do Well into practice.

Thank you to Jurong Community Hospital for the continued partnership, and to everyone who took part.

🚇 Before your MRT ride begins, let’s start with a safe escalator ride. 👀

Little things make a big difference on the escalator. ⚠️Hold your child’s hand, stay alert and keep behind the yellow line.

Got bulky items with you? 🛗 Let the lift do the heavy lifting for a safer, smoother journey.

3️⃣Three SMRT colleagues have received the Singapore Civil Defence Force's 🏆Community First Responder Award for their swift response when a commuter collapsed at 🔴Novena MRT station:

🥇Mohamed Heriadi Bin Mohamed Rashid, Assistant Station Manager (ASM)
🥇Norafidah Binte Mazlan, Assistant Station Manager
🥇Joseph Jiffy, Station Manager (SM)

ASM Heriadi was carrying out a routine inspection when he saw the commuter collapse. He immediately radioed for assistance, and ASM Norafidah and SM Joseph responded.

With off-duty medical professionals on hand to assist, the team worked in tandem to support the medical response, manage the surrounding crowd and keep the AED ready for use. They remained with the commuter until paramedics arrived and conveyed her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. 🚑

Their swift action, resourcefulness and teamwork helped ensure that she received timely medical attention.

❤️We are proud of Heriadi, Norafidah and Joseph for stepping forward when it mattered, and for showing what means.
