MTM Shipmanagement plans to achieve realistic growth by increasing its managed fleet from 70 to over 100 vessels. The company aims to operate a fully-fledged ship management service from its Greece office, in addition to its existing offices in Singapore and Mumbai.
According to Capt Rajiv Singhal, the Managing Director, the growth strategy will be gradual and focused on quality rather than quantity. They seek clients with a global presence, and their expertise includes managing various types of vessels, such as Aframax tankers, LPG tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships.
MTM currently operates ship management services from Singapore and Mumbai, with plans to start operations from Greece soon. They handle most of their manning and training needs in-house worldwide.
Capt Singhal emphasizes the importance of operating at a global level, targeting countries like Japan, Scandinavia, and Greece. He sees the fragmented nature of the shipping industry as an opportunity, especially for companies like MTM with strong global presence and resources to offer compliant services to vessel owners facing increasing regulations.
