Check out these incredible moments as our guests explore one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the Kingdom of Lo—the ancient Nyiphuk Cave Monastery (Nyiphuk Namdrol Choeling)! 寺院✨

Perched precariously against a towering, naturally eroded red cliffside, this vibrant 14th-century Buddhist monastery is built entirely into and around a natural cave. To see this colorful, multi-story facade seamlessly embedded into the rugged, desert-like rock is truly a sight that takes your breath away.

Getting here is an adventure in itself, but stepping inside is like entering another world. Our guests got to:

🎒 Beyond the mountains, there are lessons that stay with us.

During our journey through Upper Mustang, Nepal, our guests visited a local school and witnessed a different side of life beyond the trails.

Education opens doors, creates opportunities, and gives children the chance to build a brighter future. Moments like these remind us that travel is not just about discovering new places — it is also about connecting with people, understanding different ways of life, and appreciating what truly matters.

🏔️ SAFE JOURNEYS & SPECTACULAR VIEWS IN UPPER MUSTANG! 🇳🇵✨

Sending a huge shoutout to our incredible guests Judy and Sook Keng, who are currently exploring the breathtaking, high-altitude landscapes of Upper Mustang! 🥾🎒

We are so happy to share that they are safe, in high spirits, and having the journey of a lifetime. Despite some of the recent weather challenges in the lower regions, their route from Jomsom through Ghami and all the way to Lo Manthang is fully open and beautiful.

They’ve been treated to those iconic, crystal-clear October skies, stunning mountain backdrops (how about that view! 📸), and the warm hospitality of the Himalayas.

A massive thank you to our expert guide and the local teams on the ground who are keeping our travelers safe, comfortable, and on track every step of the way.

From conquering passes like Chhoku-La (4298m!) to exploring ancient caves and villages, they are making every moment count. Keep trekking strong, ladies! We can’t wait to hear all the stories when you get back.

Located in the picturesque hills of Sri Lanka, Demodara is home to a remarkable feat of engineering: the Demodara Loop, a marvel that stands out as a highlight of stage 17 of Sri Lanka’s railway system. This ingenious loop is designed to help trains tackle the steep incline of the mountainous terrain. The engineering brilliance lies in the fact that the track actually spirals around a hill and passes through a tunnel that runs beneath itself, creating a full loop. This allows trains to gain or lose elevation gradually, making it possible for them to navigate the challenging landscape safely. Completed during the British colonial era, the Demodara Loop is not only a functional piece of infrastructure but also a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of its engineers.

Today, it remains a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views and a glimpse into the country’s rich engineering heritage.

Throwback to crossing the iconic Nine Arch Bridge on Pekoe Trail Stage 16! 🌉🚂🇱🇰

​We kicked off our hike from Ella Station, navigating through bustling town cafes before stepping out onto the grand arches of the Nine Arch Bridge. Walking along the railway lines framed by lush green tea hills felt like stepping straight into a postcard!

​Stage 16 Highlights:
​Nine Arch Bridge: Watching the 19th-century viaduct
​Village & Forest Trails: Climbing past quiet hill settlements and tea gardens
​Demodara Loop: Finishing at the famous engineering marvel where the train track loops under itself
​Nothing beats exploring Ceylon's hill country step by step! 🥾🍃

Day 4 Scouting Log: Stage 13 (Haputale to St. Catherine Plateau) 🥾☁️🐍

Hands down the most challenging leg tackled so far, but without a doubt the most breathtaking!

23,000 steps and 4.5 hours took us from Haputale Post Office up through steep tea plantations, rocky outcrops, and narrow mist-filled trails to the mountain top tower and St. Catherine plateau.

Scouting Highlights:
Panoramic mountain views & a "sea of clouds" past Moon Plains
Stunning Sherwood Rock viewpoint
Wildlife encounters: frogs, soaring eagles, and a tiny harmless snake in the woods
The unique sight of tea growing directly among giant boulder fields
Local bus ride back through the highland rain
Unwinding at our chalet suite with pool time and birdwatching

While Stage 22 might be the easiest stretch on the trail—swapping dramatic cliff drop-offs for peaceful vegetable plots—the real showstoppers were the wild, blooming flowers lining every single footstep from Pedro Estate!
​Between dodging 50kg bags of leeks and watching farmers dig up potatoes, I was basically doing a full-on floral photoshoot. Forget checking the GPS map; just follow the petals! 🥾💐🍃

​Note to future hikers: Keep your camera charged, because Nuwara Eliya’s blooms do not mess around! ✨
