🇸🇬🎂 As Singapore's home-grown shipping line, PIL is honoured to once again support the nation's biggest birthday celebration with the sponsorship of 57 20-foot general purpose containers and 10 20-foot re**er containers for the National Day Parade (NDP) 2026! This is our 11th time sponsoring NDPeeps with containers. 👏👏

🎒🎆 Deployed around the National Stadium where the parade will be held, these containers play a vital behind-the-scenes role in storing essential items such as the NDP packs, props, equipment, and other materials needed to bring the celebrations to life. There’s even a container floating on Kallang Basin that is used to store the pyrotechnics needed for the parade’s highly-anticipated fireworks display! ✨

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ For PIL, supporting NDP is more than just a sponsorship — it reflects our roots in Singapore and our enduring commitment to the nation that has been home to us for nearly six decades. 🛢️📈 We are proud to have played a part in Shanghai Port’s bunkering milestone of surpassing 2 million cubic metres of cumulative LNG fuel supplied! This historic moment was achieved on 25 July when PIL’s Kota Eagle vessel received 4,549 cubic metres of LNG fuel from SIPG Energy’s LNG bunkering vessel at the Lvhuashan Anchorage off the coast of Shanghai, China. 👏👏

🌱🚢 As part of our commitment to decarbonisation, PIL is modernising our fleet by investing in LNG dual-fuel vessels. Delivered in 2024, Kota Eagle is PIL’s first LNG dual-fuel container vessel, and it also completed its maiden LNG bunkering operation at Shanghai’s Yangshan Port. To date, we have taken delivery of nine LNG dual-fuel newbuild vessels.

🤝💚 This landmark achievement by Shanghai Port reflects its rapidly growing bunkering capabilities, which provide the critical support needed for the efficient operation of our expanding fleet of greener vessels. As a Future-Focused shipping line, PIL will continue working closely with like-minded partners such as Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) to chart a more sustainable course for the future of shipping!

🚢💕 As a Future-Focused shipping line, caring for our communities goes beyond our business. This July, our colleagues from South Africa and India came together to make a meaningful difference through blood donation initiatives that help save lives.

🙋‍♂️🩸 In Durban, South Africa, our team donated 15 units of blood to the South African National Blood Service on 8 July. This marked their second blood donation drive of the year, providing a vital lifeline to those in need.

🙋‍♀️🩸 Meanwhile in Chennai, India, colleagues partnered with VHS Blood Centre to organise a voluntary blood donation camp on 24 July, contributing an impressive 41 units of blood. These donations will support thalassemia patients, accident victims, individuals undergoing critical medical treatments, and many others requiring blood transfusions.

💪💞 Together, our teams demonstrated the compassion, generosity, and community spirit that define PIL. Every donation has the potential to save lives, and we are incredibly proud of our colleagues for stepping forward to donate their blood and make a lasting impact in the communities we serve!

🇲🇾🇮🇩🇹🇭🇸🇬 We are proud to announce the launch of the Indonesia Thailand Service (ITS), a new weekly service offers direct connections from Indonesia and Malaysia to Thailand! 🆕

🌏🔗 Commencing from Port Klang on 5 September, the new service will strengthen intra-Southeast Asia connectivity by linking six key ports across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand!

🗣️💬 “The launch of ITS enhances PIL’s coverage within Asia and improves transit times for our customers,” said Mr Tonnie Lim, Chief Trade Officer, PIL. “By expanding our competitive shipping solutions across Southeast Asia and seamlessly linking them to our global network, we are strengthening regional and international connectivity while creating greater value for our customers.”

🏗️🚢 We recently demonstrated our growing project cargo capabilities with the impressive shipment of two oversized breakbulk cargo units from China to Kenya!

🛢️ Measuring nearly 20 metres in length each, the colossal cargo units were components of a nitrogen generator—an industrial system used to produce nitrogen gas from compressed air. The cargo was loaded onto our vessel Kota Sempena earlier this month and transported from Shanghai, China to Mombasa, Kenya via our East Africa Service (EAS).

🧐🤝 Behind the seamless operation was the close collaboration between our Global Project Cargo team and Commercial Department in China, who worked hand in hand with customers, terminal operators, and partners to ensure the shipment was executed safely and efficiently. From securing and loading the cargo to end-to-end shipment monitoring, the team meticulously coordinated every stage of the journey and delivered a reliable logistics solution that supported the customer’s project development in East Africa.

🙋‍♂️👷 The successful delivery reflects our expertise in delivering tailored logistics solutions. Since launching our dedicated Global Project Cargo team in 2023, PIL has handled a diverse range of complex shipments – such as yachts, helicopters, railway carriages, large transformers, and many other heavy machinery – across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Oceania.

🆕🎊 On 16 July, we celebrated the opening of our new office for PIL Shipping Malaysia, PIL Logistics, and Malaysia Shipping Corporation (MSCorp), marking an exciting milestone in our growth journey in Malaysia!

🥳🎉 Customers and terminal operator partners joined the opening ceremony where they witnessed a commemorative ribbon-cutting and a vibrant lion dance performance to usher in blessings for the new office. Colleagues from head office in Singapore as well as from across our Oceania & Southeast Asia Regional Office were also present, symbolising the unity of our regional network and underscoring the shared commitment that drives our success throughout the region.

💪🌏 More than just a new office, the occasion reflects our commitment to strengthening our presence in the region, fostering closer collaboration, and "Putting Customers First" by delivering greater value to them! Here’s to an exciting new chapter ahead for PIL Shipping Malaysia!

🏝️👣 On 18 July, 50 colleagues from our head office embarked on an intertidal exploration walk at Sentosa, a resort island off Singapore’s southern coast, and gained a deeper appreciation of the country’s rich coastal biodiversity.

💡 Guided by facilitators from local wildlife exploration team The Untamed Paths, our colleagues ventured into the intertidal zone to learn about its thriving but delicate ecosystems. They were introduced to key ecological groups such crustaceans and bivalves and discovered how these organisms adapt to survive in a constantly changing physical environment.

During the walk, the participants observed corals🪸, marine sponges🧽, pygmy squids🦑, goby fishes🐟, and snapping shrimps🦐. They also had exciting encounters with the shy hermit crabs and hairy crabs, the highly poisonous xanthid crabs, and even caught a rare and remarkable sight of the endangered coastal horseshoe crabs mating! 🦀

🌱💚 This experience reminded our colleagues of the importance of Singapore's coastal habitats and biodiversity, as well as how being Future-Focused and understanding our natural ecosystems is the first step towards protecting them. By fostering curiosity and environmental awareness, we can all play a part in safeguarding our marine ecosystems for future generations!

🚢🍦 Malaysia Shipping Corporation (MSCorp), a container shipping line under the PIL Group specialising in Malaysia and Brunei trade routes, recently enjoyed a chilling success with the shipment of frozen ice cream for Polar Ice Cream, one of Malaysia’s largest ice cream manufacturers!

❄️✅ To maintain product integrity of this highly temperature-sensitive cargo throughout the journey, MSCorp deployed a 20-foot re**er high cube container from PIL’s newly commissioned re**er fleet, which offers enhanced reliability, energy efficiency, and precise temperature control.

🚢👍 The frozen cargo was loaded at Port Klang onto our vessel Kota Jaya and transported via MSCorp’s Kota Kinabalu Muara Service (KMS). It arrived at Kota Kinabalu in excellent condition, showcasing the performance of the new PIL re**er equipment and the seamless coordination between all parties involved.

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ This successful delivery underscores our promise to Putting Customers First by strengthening our cold chain capabilities through continued investments in a modern fleet. As demand for cold chain logistics continues to grow, we remain committed to equipping customers with greater confidence and peace of mind when moving their temperature-sensitive cargo with our reliable solutions!

🆕🥳 We are proud to open our new office premise in Lima, Peru on 13 July — an important step in strengthening our presence across Latin America!

🎊🎉 To commemorate the occasion, our Peruvian team hosted about 40 customers, as well as partners and colleagues in a celebratory event. The team even rolled pineapples into the new office, embracing a Singaporean tradition to usher in prosperity, good fortune, and fresh new beginnings! 🍍🍍
