It’s been slightly over a year since we embarked on Yellow Ribbon Singapore’s TAP & Grow initiative to hire logistically trained ex-offenders by the Singapore Logistics Association, who train inmates who are looking for a second chance in the sector. To date, we have placed over three ex-offenders with our contract logistics arm, and are deeply encouraged that the programme has received positive feedback from our team.

We are proud of Yasman, who has adapted and performed competently at work, and demonstrated positive learning attitudes to pick up new skills and upgrade himself. We also hope that through Yang Kee Logistics, more success stories can be made for a more society in the near future!

Happy 57th Birthday Singapore!

Thank you Pacific Trans and Haulio for celebrating with our nation’s container haulage drivers by sponsoring coffee, tea and snacks for them. Our founder, Mr Koh Yang Kee, a haulage driver himself three decades ago, had also dropped by to celebrate this meaningful occasion with some of our drivers.

A big thanks to all for keeping Singapore moving! Mahjulah Singapura!

We take seriously. Besides our ongoing safety efforts, the Yang Kee Singapore team had also heeded Singapore Ministry of Manpower and Workplace Safety and Health Council's call to conduct Safety Time-out (STO) sessions last month. Teams from the warehousing, transport and yard operations, together with Yang Kee’s senior management, participated and gleaned recaps on near misses and lessons learnt from past incidents. It also gave the teams the opportunity to further identify new potential accident areas and brainstormed ideas for safety improvements.

Following Shenzhen’s lockdown, our China operations as well as the rest of the world’s supply chain and logistics ecosystem will be put to the stress test again in the next few weeks with Shanghai’s unexpected lockdown. Last Friday, Yang Kee Logistics and one of our heavy vehicle drivers participated in the ‘Look Out’ and ‘Look Up’ road safety campaign that was launched by Singapore Logistics Association together with Singapore Cycling Federation and the Safe Cycling Task Force. We’re glad to be part of this commendable ground-up initiative to promote mutual safety awareness and understanding between cyclists and heavy vehicle motorists.

A great reminder for drivers to ‘look out’ and cyclists to ‘look up’ when coexisting on the roads - let us all do our part to reduce road accidents, and practice good road safety habits!
