We welcomed ultra-luxurious cruise ship Silver Moon’s maiden call at our international Passenger Terminal (IPT) in the morning of 28th March. Silver Moon is part of the Silversea Cruises’ fleet.

To commemorate the occasion of its maiden call at Singapore Cruise Centre, SCCPL’s Chief Executive Jacqueline Tan did a plaque exchange with Silver Moon’s Captain Chavdar Georgiev to mark the occasion, along with Singapore Tourism Board and Port Agent Cambiaso & Risso.

At 40,700 gross tons, this 213-meter long ultra-lux vessel with a capacity of 596 passengers, joined the Silversea fleet in 2021. Silver Moon is part of a fleet of 4 other Silversea’s vessels calling at Singapore Cruise Centre this season. The others were Silver Muse in Nov 2023, Silver Whisper’s 2 calls in Nov 2023 and March 2024 – and Silver Shadow’s upcoming call in March 2024.

Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC) will undertake a $20 million upgrade of Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) to modernise its facilities, enhance passenger experience and position for growth.

Passengers will be able to look forward to future self-service kiosks for seamless, contactless check-in, bag drop and boarding by Jan 2025.

The terminal will also be getting an updated look, a larger passenger departure area as well as other amenities including more F&B outlets.

The year-long renovation will be done in stages to minimise inconveniences to the users of our terminal. Ferry services to and from Batam, Bintan, Desaru and Tanjung Pengelih remain unaffected.

Singapore Cruise Centre Resumes Ferry Services from
HarbourFront Passenger Terminal

SINGAPORE, 9 June 2022 – Regional ferry services will resume at HarbourFront Passenger Terminal from 15 June 2022 for sea travels to the Indonesia islands of Batam and Karimun. Singapore lifted its Covid-19 travel restrictions in April 2022 and the Indonesian authorities announced on 18 May 2022 the lifting of pre-departure test requirements for all travellers regardless of their vaccination status.

Passengers who wish to purchase tickets to Batam and Karimun islands from HarbourFront Passenger Terminal can contact the regional ferry operators (Annex 1) that sail to Batam and Karimun islands from Singapore.

Mr Lee Seng Chee, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Cruise Centre said, “We have made preparations for the opening of HarbourFront Passenger Terminal since May 2022 and we are excited about the resumption of ferry services at the HarbourFront Passenger Terminal from 15 June 2022.”

With the resumption of regional ferry operations at HarbourFront Passenger Terminal, Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal will continue to operate to Batam and Bintan islands. With both terminals in operation, passengers have different choices of terminal location to travel to and from these islands.

Over the past few months, Singapore Cruise Centre has stepped up safety measures and added layers to its existing Covid-19 defences, to keep passengers and visitors safe and to protect seaport workers. HarbourFront Passenger Terminal has also enhanced its air quality with the use of hospital grade MERV-14 filters.

Singapore Cruise Centre has also deployed disinfection robots at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and HarbourFront Passenger Terminal to sanitise high touch-points for a safer and cleaner environment.
