Have you heard?

Marine biofuels today rely heavily on used cooking oil, but supply is nearing its limit. The industry is now exploring additional sustainable feedstocks such as waste tallow to scale lower-emissions fuels. In May 2026, Berge Bulk bunkered Berge Lyngor in Singapore with a B100 bio-blend made from 50% waste tallow and 50% used cooking oil. Chartered by BHP, the vessel will carry iron ore from Western Australia to China.

Per voyage, it is expected to reduce well-to-wake emissions by ~79% versus very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO), supporting Berge Bulk’s and .

Last week, we travelled to Batam for our annual volunteering activity, a reminder that giving back is about more than donations. It’s also about giving back our time and skills.

Together with Seven Clean Seas, we collected 745 kilogrammes of plastic waste at Sungei Bengkong and visited their recycling facility to see how plastic waste is sorted and given a new lease of life.♻️

Last week, we attended the opening of Museo del Galeón in Manila, bringing this maritime heritage to life. As part of the partnership, Berge Bulk donated a model of Berge Olympus and sponsored one of the 181 featured floating galleons, Montañes.

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that real change starts with us—on every voyage, on every vessel, every day.

Last week, our seafarers and their families visited the Stairway Foundation in the Philippines and spent a day on board their floating classroom – the Sea Adventure School. This annual trip offers participants a hands-on experience in understanding the importance of protecting marine life and the oceans we call home.

Because moments like these don’t just move us, they shape the way we care for our planet. Together, we can harness our power to safeguard our planet and shape a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Since 2013, Berge Bulk has been supporting the Stairway Foundation as part of the Marshall Foundation's philanthropic commitments. Specifically, through the Sea Adventure School, which is designed to deliver environmental awareness for children and youth.
