BainBridge Navigation was at Marine Money Week New York 2026.
Our management team - Deepak Kumar Sharma, Nihit Arora, Abhimeet Sharma and Ankit Dhawan joined industry leaders, financiers, investors and shipowners to discuss one of the most complex shipping environments in recent memory.
Much of the conversation focused on vessel values, capital allocation and the strength of shipping earnings. From an operator’s perspective, freight markets are ultimately driven by cargo demand, not asset values. The key question is not where ships are priced today but whether cargo owners remain willing to pay tomorrow’s freight rates.
While asset prices and earnings remain important indicators, the industry’s long-term outlook depends equally on the resilience of underlying cargo demand and how global trade flows evolve in response to changing economic and geopolitical realities.
With a fleet of over 70 vessels across the dry bulk and chemical tanker segments, BainBridge remains closely connected to cargo owners, charterers and trade flows. That proximity often provides a different lens on market sentiment than headline freight rates or asset values alone.
During the event, Deepak Kumar Sharma participated in the Dry Bulk panel discussion, “Decision Making in a High Market,” sharing perspectives on market fundamentals, fleet deployment, cargo demand dynamics and the evolving outlook for the sector.
As geopolitical developments, changing trade patterns and technology continue to reshape global shipping, open dialogue between cargo interests, operators, owners and capital providers remains as important as ever.
Good conversations. Useful room. See you in 2027.
