Did you guess it right? For all nostalgia-lovers, it's the classic CRT television!
From dial-turning channels to that iconic static hum, this living room centerpiece brought families together for decades.
CRTs contain toxic materials such as lead, cadmium, barium, and fluorescent powders, which makes recycling them safely very crucial as they pose a hazardous effect on our environment. This ensures harmful substances are managed responsibly while precious raw materials get a second life!

Count down to International E-Waste Day 2026 with us! STEP UP to be the Top Recycler and win $500 worth of eCapitaVouchers! ✨

Recycle the most regulated e-waste between 1 – 20 Sep 2026 to claim the top spot!

How to Participate:
1️⃣ Open the ALBA STEP UP app and join the “STEP UP to be the Top Recycler!” event by tapping the “Join” button.
2️⃣ Tap the event to view details, then select “Start Recycling” to scan the QR code on the bin. (Note: Only recycling entries scanned within this event are taken into account).
3️⃣ Recycle as many regulated items as you can between 1 – 20 Sep 2026!

✅ Accepted regulated items: Laptops, mobile phones, tablets, routers, TVs, desktop monitors, printers, household light bulbs.
❌ Excluded items: Batteries do not count toward the contest total.

Your E-waste begins its journey at the ALBA E-waste Sorting Hub, where it’s weighed, sorted and sent to licensed recyclers. There, valuable raw materials are recovered and looped back into production, reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources and driving a circular economy. 🌍

We recently had a meaningful outreach session with our lovely seniors at Lions Befrienders AAC @ Ang Mo Kio 318!

Our team guided them through setting up the ALBA STEP UP app, sharing the importance of e-waste recycling and the types of devices that can be recycled.

We were truly touched by their enthusiasm for going green, as many of them brought along their old ICT devices, from mobile phones and laptops to screens, to ensure they were recycled safely and responsibly!

A heartfelt thank you to all the seniors for their kind attention and effort, and a huge thank you to Lions Befrienders for organising this wonderful session and having us! 🤝
