Why China shippers can send these to Singapore?

Lately a lot of customers told me they that saw some China shippers in Facebook or Little Red Book who can send things like meat, live plants, live fishes etc.. to Singapore and whether we can do it.

Firstly I need to explain to everyone that the China shipper can only pack and arrange shipment out of the country of origin. They can't even declare their own shipment out of China. They will need to use an authorized custom agent in China to do it for them unless they have one in house which most of the shipper in China doesn't have. The exporter needs to have the necessary permit to export these things out of China. And the importer needs to have the necessary permit to clear the custom. Shipper or custom agent does not have such necessary permit themselves.

So how it works now for those China shippers to do is of the following below:
1. They use their existing customer who had the permit to do it for item like live plants, live fishes with or without their knowing.
2. They simply just smuggle those items over without declaring to China and Singapore custom.

If in any case if Singapore custom checked and found out, the China shipper will usually just abandon the entire container as the fine and jail term is too much for them to bear. And the receiver in Singapore will be charged as well. Fine is confirmed and even jail if its serious. Even if you tell the custom, China shipper said its ok to send blah blah and you doesn't know its illegal to do so and you doesn't want those items anymore. They will still charge you as a person's mistake of law or ignorance of the law is not a defend to a charge for an offence.

Common items which a lot of people thought its alright to ship it into Singapore but its actually illegal to do so.
1. Salted eggs
2. Soil
3. Fertilizers
4. Soil
5. Meat in all form (Cook, Raw, Salted, Preserved)
6.Processed food containing eggs
7. Toy guns
8. Animal parts
9. Controlled drugs
10. Pesticides
11. Dangerous chemicals

To China shippers they don't bother as all they want is money so most of them when you ask them, they will tell you everything also can send no problem. Even if you did not send anything illegal but your China shipper does. The whole container will be detained and your items inside will be all gone if Singapore custom checked and found illegal things inside the container. We seen too much of those cases and customers charged and jailed. Life is yours and you decide.

If you are not sure best is to contact Singapore Custom before you purchase the item.

Our peak hours are from 10am to 12pm, and 3pm to 5pm. You are always welcome to engage with us via live-chat. You may also leave a call-back request and we will aim to get back to you within 20 minutes.
