We were pleased to welcome the Singapore Armed Forces Inspector-General's Office (IGO) to Bok Seng Group for a workplace safety and health learning exchange, led by SAF Inspector General BG Chan Ching Hao, together with personnel from safety and logistics departments of the SAF.
Our Senior Director, Corporate Services & HSE, Steven Tan, led the sharing session by providing an overview of Bok Seng's logistics operations, safety journey and the practical lessons we have learnt over the years. Deputy Director (Safety Governance), Eric Gooi from SAF IGO then shared on the SAF Safety System and Digitalisation Efforts. This was followed by a visit to our marine yard and workshop where discussions continued on the ground through observations of our day-to-day operations. It was a valuable opportunity for two-way dialogue, and we were equally keen to learn about the SAF's approach to safety management.
One message that resonated strongly with everyone throughout the session was that zero accidents is an achievable goal. More importantly, safety is not just about policies and procedures. It is a mindset and a culture that must be embraced by everyone, every day.
We thank the SAF IGO for the opportunity for this meaningful exchange. We believe there is always something to learn from others, and we welcome opportunities to exchange ideas and best practices with others that share the same commitment to workplace safety. If your organisation is interested in exchanging workplace safety experiences and best practices, we'd love to have a conversation.
