One day in 2017 without giving it too much thought we decided to buy an American schoolbus on e-bay. Follow our stories

We had it shipped to the Netherlands & converted it to a cozy tiny home on wheels.

Throwback to some vintage shopping in Normandy. Thank you .postma for taking us along to ‘Nouveautes’ a crazy little shop where everything is new and vintage! We had such a blast.

The Singapore touches in ‘LYFE’ are the small details we think add the ‘WOW! factor’. They add character, they tell our story & make it ‘gezellig’ as we say in Dutch.

LYFE is parked back at the ‘greenhouse’ and earlier this week I went to get the last finishing touches done. The mattrasses were tipped over sideways and we use kitty litter as a dehumidifier so a couple of trays of kitty litter was put around the bus. It seems to help because the bus has been nice and dry and nothing becomes damp or mouldy.

🚲 Later that afternoon I cycled around the area …… and just have to share these photos of this cute little teahouse called ‘the Gloriëtte’ which is part of ‘Castle Ravenhof’ and its surrounding castle park which design was based on Versailles. The teahouse dates back to 1768. Interesting to note is that this tiny teahouse stands on Dutch soil and the castle is in Belgium. The top of ‘the Gloriëtte’ is the same height as the highest point of the castle. It was made to impress guests!

We have arrived in Southwestern France and LYFE is safely parked in the small hamlet of La Bréchoire in the Charente region, famous for producing Cognac. We are surrounded by fields where grapes are grown to produce Cognac. The villages, houses & decor around here is very French shabby chic - LYFE fits right in!

Had a bit of fun this weekend on (as you do) Apparantly, LYFE is an abbreviation for : Live Your Future Everyday (we like that!) & according to AI we are a converted bus ✅ that has been transformed into a cozy ✅, off-grid living space ✅ equipped with solar power ⛔️ (coming this summer) & composting toilet (not yet) & a mini-kitchen ✅ and even a cozy sleeping area ✅ It’s perfect for a couple who want to live a more sustainable and adventurous lifestyle, while also minimizing their environmental impact. 🌳🌎

These photos represent ‘happiness’ and a whole lot of love. ❤️ Moments where our tiny home on the road is just simply parked in front of my parents’ home. Just for a little while we live (super) close to them & they’re popping in for a spontaneous visit to have a coffee, lunch, a Heineken or a glass of wine at ‘borrel time’. Even the simple act of doing the dishes afterwards (I know this sounds crazy!) is special.

A day early ❤️ because …., the ultimate relationship test is the ‘camping test’! In 1989 we tried it & survived a week camping in a tent in Wales (and yes it rained alot!) 30 years on I guess we are still camping….!

We live halfway across the globe from each other, so connecting over coffee with my mum inside our chilly bus 2 werks ago .., was a special moment. 💙☕️

Good times in the summer of 2019. We can’t wait for June 2023 to come around fast enough. Need to be a little patient but that summer roadtrip feeling will come soon enough!
