Around the world, the 8th of March is celebrated as International Women's Day. Our society celebrates women's accomplishments in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. The theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is ‘Cracking the Code: Innovation for a gender equal future’. This theme is based on the United Nations 67th Commission on the Status of Women priority theme ‘Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls’. The discrimination, harassment, inequality, and oppression that one woman experiences affect us all. We need to. There may just be a sense of exhaustion from fighting the same battles over and over again. In such times, we need a boost of inspiration, re-energization, or to remind ourselves that we are not alone, millions of women are standing with us in spirit. To build true equity, problematic behaviour needs to be called in at all levels, personally and professionally. As leaders, we need to drive the change in our own areas of excellence, to make workplaces and personal spaces much safer, more productive, innovative, and not disruptive, now and for the future.
