🏦 Singapore’s Big 3 Banks — who came out strongest in Q2 2026?

DBS, OCBC and UOB all delivered solid results, but the numbers tell slightly different stories.

🏆 DBS : Highest net profit at S$3.08b
🚀 OCBC :Fastest profit growth at +22% YoY
💰 UOB : Highest dividend per share at 88¢
🛡️ OCBC : Lowest NPL ratio at 0.9%
📊 DBS : Highest NIM at 1.87%

One interesting trend: while net interest income came under some pressure, fee income grew across all three banks.

As interest rates evolve, Singapore banks may increasingly rely on areas beyond traditional lending to drive growth.

Which of the Big 3 would you pick for the long term? 👇

🚗 Owning a car in Singapore is becoming less common.

Singapore’s private car population has fallen to its lowest level since 2019, while rental and shared vehicles continue to grow in popularity.

So, what’s driving the shift?

📈 High COE prices
💰 Rising ownership costs
🚆 Better public transport
🚖 More flexible rental and ride-hailing options

This trend reminds us that financial decisions should be based on needs, not wants.

A car can offer convenience and freedom, but it also comes with depreciation, insurance, road tax, maintenance, and opportunity costs.

Before making any major purchase, ask yourself:
Is this improving my financial future, or simply my lifestyle?

🇯🇵 The Bank of Japan has kept interest rates unchanged at 1.0%.

While the decision was widely expected, the BOJ signalled that inflation remains a key concern and left the door open for further rate hikes if economic conditions continue to strengthen.

So why should investors care?

Japan has been one of the world’s lowest interest rate economies for decades. Any future policy changes could influence:
📈 Global stock markets
💴 Currency movements
📊 Bond yields
💰 Investor sentiment worldwide

The key takeaway? Markets don’t just react to today’s decision they’re always looking ahead. Keep an eye on Japan’s inflation, wage growth, and the next BOJ meeting, as they could shape global market direction.

Stay informed. Invest with perspective, not emotion.

🇺🇸 The Federal Reserve has kept interest rates unchanged. So, what does this mean for investors?

The Fed decided to maintain its benchmark interest rate at 3.50%–3.75%, signalling that policymakers are still taking a cautious approach as they assess inflation and the broader economy.

While the decision was widely expected, markets are now shifting their attention to upcoming inflation and employment data, which could influence the Fed’s next move.

📌 Key takeaway:
Don’t let one headline change your long-term investment strategy. Successful investing is built on discipline, patience, and staying focused on your financial goals—not reacting to every market update.

Stay informed. Stay invested.

📉 Markets are falling… but does that mean you should sell?

Whenever markets turn red, fear spreads quickly. Headlines become louder, and many investors start questioning their decisions.

The reality is that market corrections are a normal part of investing.

Instead of reacting emotionally, ask yourself:
✅ Has my long-term goal changed?
✅ Are my investments still fundamentally strong?
✅ Is this a risk… or an opportunity?

The investors who build wealth over time aren’t the ones who perfectly time the market. They’re the ones who stay disciplined through both the highs and the lows.

Remember:
Short-term volatility creates long-term opportunities for patient investors.

What are you doing during this selloff?
💬 Buying, holding, or waiting?

🚨 Markets don’t just crash because prices fall. Sometimes leverage makes it much worse.

When investors borrow to invest, falling prices can trigger margin calls, forcing more selling and creating a domino effect.

Understanding how leverage works is just as important as knowing which stocks to buy.

Should I do up my will and LPA even when I am young?🚨🚨

Often, unexpected events can hit us when we are least prepared, and this does not matter whether we are young or old. Planning ahead allows us to protect our loved ones and communicate our wishes.

Having a Will decides how our assets will be distributed instead of leaving it to the intestacy laws while the LPA appoints a trusted one to act on our behalf when we lose mental capacity.

Starting early prevents confusion for our loved ones, and avoid lengthy court proceedings when the unexpected occurs which can be costly as well.💸💸

Not sure how to go about doing your Will and LPA? Drop us a DM 📩 today or simply whatsapp us at 89101088!
