Welcome to Gothenburg 2025!
The first walking tour of the year was carried out in a little snow. Of course there are things to discover in Gothenburg regardless of the season, temperature or weather. And with a nice group in such a good mood, you hardly notice if it's a couple of minus degrees (celsius).

Gustav II Adolf, the king who founded Gothenburg, seems to point to today's group and ask what they are all chewing on?

The answer is, of course, CINNAMON BUNS! October 4th is cinnamon bun day in Sweden and then everyone - EVERYONE - eats at least one bun during the day. And of course that also applies to the city's guests.

So today we were not only lucky with the weather, we were also lucky to start the day with pastries ❤️

When in Gothenburg - always take an umbrella or a rain jacket with you. As in many other coastal cities, the rain is often close at hand. And for those who want a genuine experience of the city, it is not an obstacle, quite the opposite. In addition, there are always fine museums, exciting shops or cozy cafes to warm up in afterwards.

Today is the day, Gothenburg officially celebrates 400 years of its official existence!

The city changes not only throughout the year quite a lot, but the past 4 centuries have been a blast. The story is, however, a bit longer, and so will our celebrations be. We will just celebrate until we feel content, so please do celebrate with us. Either this year with random explorations, or in a coming year. Plenty to see and do!

(Psst, you can join us on a tour to learn more about the history and these cool things to see and do)

Every year and every season is uncertain in the tourism and hospitality sector. This year was no different, well, maybe a bit more.💁‍♂️

But because of this, we are all the more happy that we still received so many visitors from all around that shared their smiles with us during our tours this Summer. Whether it's walking through the city 🏃‍♀️, going to the islands 🏝 or hiking through the forest 🌲, we did enjoy ourselves quite a bit and hope you did too!

Now, at the end of August, we already feel the colder winds and dare to say "Winter is Coming", but we will still do our best to welcome all brave visitors who will come in the colder and darker times with our Autumn/Winter schedule.

✨Thanks again for all the smiles and good vibes this Summer!✨

Come walk with us! 🦑

This summer brings quite the challenges for many of us, but we still believe that having a walk while learning something about the history and culture of a place can have a positive impact.🌳

Because of this, we are back with our free walking tours and hope some of you will walk with us! 🧐

According to The Guardian, Gothenburg has the coolest neighbourhood in Europe.

The area around Järntorget (the iron square) is indeed one of the coolest parts of the city. Pubs, cafés. weird local shops, and the typical heartwarming vibe of the locals. Definitely worth checking out on weekends, when it goes pretty mad in the evenings ;)

There are must-sees, of course, but to really get under the skin of Europe’s great cities go for our pick of less-touristy districts

Winter can be quite a depressing time in Sweden, but when you see how beautiful it can look like, it really makes you want to get out! 👌

During Winter, there is a ton to do in Gothenburg. Mainly indoor activities such as one of the many cafés, restaurants or museums, but also plenty for the nature lovers.
Having a stroll through the city on a sunny day can be quite astonishing, or how about going to the lake and having a proper "utefika"? 🧐

In any case, we are active during winter and provide you with tours if you're curious about some of the cool spots and their stories! ✨

It's all these kind of things that make Gothenburg such a lovely place. Small, but important steps.✨

Also: should you be around here, the Göteborg Film Festival 2020 starts tomorrow and takes place until the 3rd of February with movies in all kinds of cool locations🧐

“It wasn't difficult to find enough good films by women directors,” says artistic director Jonas Holmberg. “You just have to make an effort.”

Today is Lucia, one of the most important days in Sweden✨

We don't really know why, but at least there are saffron buns (Lussekatter) and we get to hear the song Sankta Lucia around 50 times 🤷‍♂️

Here is a little bit more explanation about this day🧐

Lucia Day (St. Lucy's Day) – a feast of candlelit processions, saffron buns, mulled wine and talking animals. Here's how to make the most of it. Lucia is cel...

Our Story

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Gothenburg has a history dating back much longer than the official founding of the city.

It’s a place where ideas met people with a “let’s do this”-mentality. It’s a place where sustainability meets ambition. It’s a place that screams inclusiveness, no matter of your background.

We want to bring people together, give them a glimpse of the history and let them explore why Gothenburg is more than just another city.
