Hey all!

Although we've been dormant on our social media platforms lately, there's been plenty going on behind the scenes! 😁👍

Here's one of the amazing new opportunities for all of our debate lovers at VRGD:

"Dear First and Second-year students at VRG Djursholm,

We are so excited to be able to offer you the chance to be a part of a great adventure: The Great Debate! Hone your skills in spoken English and Debate AND star in a television show being produced for UR.

There is a casting call (try out) in Studierummet next Wednesday the 23/01 at 15:30-17:00 for ALL of you interested in improving your skills at debate and for those of you wishing to improve your English.

Come to Studierummet next Wednesday and speak to the producers of the show and learn more about the 4-episode, TV series which will require two full days of filming this Spring.

NB: It is NOT about being the best speaker in the English language

After these wonderfully warm summer months, VR Debating Society is back with a fresh face. We've got a new board and plenty of new ideas for this coming school year!

But who are we kidding, we couldn't stay away from debate for an ENTIRE summer! 😅

As a society, we couldn't be more proud and honored to have such a dominating representation on the Swedish National Team this year! Felicia Hu, Kristine Wilson, Nika Aghajani, and Tomass Wilson spent the summer preparing for the World School Debating Championships in Croatia. They listened and learned from their awesome coach Paidamwoyo Mangondo, attended a tournament beforehand, sparred against other national teams, received emotional support from team manager Johan Allen, practiced their speeches over and over and over again.. And it paid off! They set the record for the best Swedish National Team performance ever!

While some of them respectfully retired from debate for the rest of the summer, others went on to conquer more tournaments at a university level.

We wish our graduated members nothing but the best in their studies and debate journey! ❤️

And we welcome a new generation of debaters! Stay tuned for more info on when, where and how.
