Part 1: How to Create Your User ID & Password
If you are a visitor (on an Umrah or Multiple Entry Visit Visa) and do not have an account, follow these steps to register. (Note: Saudi Nationals and Iqama holders can log in directly using their Nafath account).
Visit the Alharamain Website: https://alharamain.gov.sa
Click on the Services at the Two Holy Mosques tab.
Select Digital Service Guide.
Scroll down, locate the Itikaf (I'tikaf) Service, and click Start Service.
Under the login section, click Register New (or use this direct link: https://eservices.alharamain.gov.sa/ips/itikafRequests/create
(Please note: This link is not active yet. Insha'Allah, it is expected to start working in the month of Sha'ban).
Registration Details Required:
Full Name: Write your full name as per passport.
Passport Number: Write your passport number as per passport.
Mobile No: Only an active Saudi mobile number is required (you will receive an OTP on it).
Visa No: Write your visa number.
Date of Birth: Write your Date of Birth.
Email: Note down your correct email address.
Select Gender: Male / Female.
Nationality: Write your Nationality.
Password: Write your password and note it down carefully.
Finalizing Registration:
Click the verification box and click Register New Account.
A Verification Code (OTP) will be sent to your registered Saudi mobile number.
Enter the OTP and click Verify.
Insha'Allah, your new account will be created successfully! (Note: Your login username will be your Passport Number, or whatever you enter in the field).
Part 2: How to Apply for Itikaf (I'tikaf) (Once Registration Opens)
Log in with your User ID & Password (or via Nafath account).
Go to the Itikaf (I'tikaf) Service.
Click Start Service to access the online service.
Select the Itikaf (I'tikaf) location (Prophet’s Mosque in Madina (Madinah) or Grand Mosque in Makkah).
Click Next.
Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Fill in the required information accurately.
If choosing Makkah for Itikaf (I'tikaf), select your specific location.
Click Submit Application to complete the process.
You will receive an SMS and Email notification on your registered details upon nomination.
If accepted, log in to confirm attendance and upload your personal photo to issue the permit (or cancel the request if desired).
You will receive an SMS with the date and location of attendance.
📜 Itikaf (I'tikaf) Terms & Conditions
My permit has not previously been revoked in any prior season for any reason whatsoever.
I shall adhere to the designated locations and specified times for Itikaf (I'tikaf), as well as all related instructions.
I shall comply with the Islamic guidelines of Itikaf (I'tikaf) in a way that fulfils the objectives of worship and reflects proper conduct within the Itikaf (I'tikaf) areas in the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina (Madinah).
I shall uphold the sanctity of the place and maintain dignity and tranquillity within the designated Itikaf (I'tikaf) areas.
I shall abide by the public norms and all general rules and etiquettes.
I confirm that I am in suitable health and physical condition to perform Itikaf (I'tikaf) without exposing myself or others to any risk, and I shall comply with all approved health regulations and preventive measures. (Applicants for Itikaf (I'tikaf) must be no younger than 18 years of age).
I shall not exploit Itikaf (I'tikaf) for any unauthorised purpose of whatever nature.
I shall not bring in any prohibited items, including hot or cooked meals, or any items that may obstruct the movement of others within the Itikaf (I'tikaf) areas.
I shall comply with all instructions issued by the competent administration during this season, including those related to crowd management, emergencies, and safety and security requirements.
I consent to the competent administration processing my personal data with full confidentiality for organisational and regulatory verification purposes in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Failure to attend the designated Itikaf (I'tikaf) location within a maximum period of 12 hours from the start of the approved Itikaf (I'tikaf) period, without a valid excuse in accordance with the approved procedure, shall result in the automatic cancellation of the permit. The competent administration shall have the right to reallocate the space in accordance with the approved procedure in the public interest.
The permit shall be cancelled during the Itikaf (I'tikaf) period if a new scan of the Itikaf (I'tikaf) participant’s QR code is not recorded at the designated entry points to the Itikaf (I'tikaf) area within a maximum period of 10 hours. The Authority shall have the right to reallocate the space in the public interest.
I acknowledge that any breach of the above Terms and Conditions shall result in the cancellation of the permit or termination of the Itikaf (I'tikaf) as determined by the competent administration, without any entitlement on my part to claim any obligation arising from such cancellation.
