Transitions to the United States take a tremendous amount of effort, energy, and determination. Sally's journey is proof that if you follow our team's directions and lean into the process, you will be successful and enjoy a wonderfully smooth transition.

Teacher Spotlight: Celebrating Sally's Smooth Transition! 🌟

Moving to a new city and starting a brand-new teaching adventure is no small feat. Sally put in an incredible amount of dedication and teamwork, working closely with the Lattice team ahead of her arrival to get her housing secured, squared away, and ready for move-in day.

A Whirlwind First Day
Sally hit the ground running with a high-energy, packed itinerary that included:
~Complete onboarding to get acclimated
~A trip to the local bank to set up her accounts
~Utility setup and essential errands
~Unpacking and settling into her brand-new space
By the end of a very long, productive day, Sally was officially moved in, fully set up, and beaming with excitement to finally have her own place to call home.

Meet Pertti, one of our exceptional J1 international educators from Kenya, whose journey embodies the absolute highest standard of professional dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his students.
When it was time to pack up and head to the U.S. to start his teaching job, Pertti faced an unforgettable moment: his wife was right on the verge of giving birth. Instead of asking for a travel extension, he made the tough call to head to the airport on time so he could honor his commitment to his students. Missing the birth of your newborn son to fulfill a calling takes a level of personal sacrifice that words can scarcely capture.
When our Ohio team recently gathered, we knew we had to celebrate him. We came together to honor his incredible work ethic and character, showering him with toys and baby items so he is fully prepared for his baby boy's upcoming arrival here in the U.S.
This is the caliber of educator who transforms school communities. Pertti’s focus, selflessness, and dedication remind us all of what it means to truly answer a calling. We are immensely proud to stand beside him, and we cannot wait until his family is finally reunited stateside!

Experiencing American culture goes far beyond the classroom—it’s about sharing everyday moments, building community, and discovering new traditions together.
Recently, I took my Ohio crew out to a local Mexican restaurant to explore some vibrant new flavors and enjoy a wonderful evening of connection outside of school. Moments like these are what the J-1 cultural exchange journey is all about: connecting across backgrounds, creating lasting memories, and sharing good food with great people.
