As of 2026, HMM received an MSCI ESG Rating of AA 🌊

This ‘AA’ rating represents the highest level among globally listed shipping companies and places HMM in the “Leader” group, recognized for proactively managing ESG risks and opportunities.
Starting from a ‘BB’ rating in 2021, HMM has made remarkable progress, climbing three levels through continuous effort.
Even under this year’s more rigorous evaluation framework, the company was recognized for outstanding performance across all areas of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G).

As our sincerity and commitment continue to gain recognition on the global stage, HMM will keep moving forward on its journey toward a more sustainable future for both society and the planet.

HMM is expanding!
Starting this July, our new Mediterranean-West Africa ( ) service officially launches, strengthening our global hub-and-spoke network. By utilizing Algeciras as our primary gateway, we’re bridging the gap between major East-West trade lanes and the rapidly growing West African market.

The service will be operated in cooperation with Ocean Network Express ( ), deploying five 2,800 TEU container vessels.

▪ Total round-trip journey: 35 days

| HMM has unveiled an update to our East-West service network, covering the major trade routes connecting Asia with Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Our enhanced network is scheduled to launch in April 2026.
For 2026, our port rotations will continue to follow the established route around the Cape of Good Hope.
We are closely monitoring developments in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Suez Canal, and will ensure timely communication and support should any adjustments to our East-West services be required.

| HMM has signed an MoU with Hanwha Group subsidiaries and Korean Register (KR) to jointly develop a next-generation zero-carbon propulsion system for ships.

Through this collaboration, our experts will work together to design an innovative system that generates thrust from thrust from Ammonia-based Gas Turbine(GT) and electrical power from fuel cells, enabling fully carbon-free operation. The project will focus on container vessels and explore hybrid propulsion concepts combining fuel cells and batteries, along with economic feasibility studies and optimized hull design.

By combining our operational expertise with Hanwha’s advanced technologies and KR’s technical verification framework, we aim to create a strong synergy that accelerates innovation in maritime decarbonization. This initiative also represents another important step toward our Net-Zero 2045 goal, as we continue to lead the industry’s transition through LNG dual-fuel and methanol-powered containerships.

A pilot station is a designated point at sea where highly trained pilots board our vessels. From there, these experts use their in-depth knowledge of local waters, such as currents, tides, and narrow channels to guide the ship safely through complex areas.
