At the end of May, we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special group to Portugal. It was a different kind of tour than what we usually do — but just as rewarding.

This small group of friends came to us through our partner, Puzzle International , and Gabo The Guide simply said: "This has to go perfectly!"

As always, we adapted to every request. We suggested hotels we know and trust, and we carried out site inspections to ensure that the new properties matched the standards our partner needed.

The tour has come to an end, everything went smoothly — but we’d like to give a very special thank you to Vitor and his team, who wholeheartedly adjusted to what the group needed, and to Quinta da Taboadella , who opened their home and hearts for an unforgettable experience.

In Nevo’s words: “This place is WOW.”

We know we’ve made new friends, and we’re sure they’ll be back!

Happy Children’s Day! 👧🏼👦🏻🇮🇹

At Culture Discovery, we believe that traveling as a family is one of the most beautiful ways to keep the child within us alive.

Why not try Italy this summer? Here, every little village has a piazza where children run freely, where gelato always tastes like childhood, and where nonna and nonno welcome everyone with hugs, stories, and plates full of love.

Traveling with kids isn’t just possible — it’s wonderful! It’s learning through play, discovering the world with curious eyes and spontaneous laughter. And Italy is the perfect place for that: safe, welcoming, full of color, life, and surprises around every corner.

And let’s be honest… no tantrum can survive a good plate of bolognese made with love and grandma’s recipe!

The life of a DMC team member might seem boring… but only on the surface! This time, we were “forced” to make a quick getaway to the Algarve to visit the . We traveled one day and came back the next (because the office doesn’t run itself!), but it was absolutely worth it. The hotel is a real gem — full of charm, comfort, and excellent service. It will definitely be part of our selection for special programs. Tough job, right?

At the end of May, we’ll be launching a brand-new cruise in Croatia — in true Culture Discovery style: warm, immersive, and exclusive. Joining us on this new adventure will be some of our alumni guests, and we know it’s going to be a fun and truly authentic experience, like we love to do. After this week, we’ll be ready to adapt the journey for private tours — whether for families, groups of friends, or incentive travel. Stay tuned for what’s coming next!

I've always said that working in tourism is both beautiful and challenging. Beautiful because it’s amazing to see the happiness on people’s faces when they’re on vacation and having fun. And challenging because our work happens ‘here and now’—it’s not like a factory where we can just set aside a product that didn’t turn out quite right.

Yesterday we had one of those experiences that every DMC around the world has at some point: one of the vans transporting our guests broke down. The issue was resolved quickly, in just over 15 minutes.

And this is where João comes in—the new member of the Culture Discovery team, that we want to talk about today. João is an extremely kind person, very helpful, and always brings good vibes to those around him. Yesterday, he was, along with Renata hosting our group. When the van broke down, I was nearby as well and stopped to offer a bit of support and comfort, the team on the ground had already taken care of everything.

What I saw when I arrived was truly heartwarming and filled me with joy and pride. João was next to the van, which was already ready to continue the journey, and our guests were just asking him for 'one more' before returning to the hotel. At 10:00 p.m., while we waited for the van to arrive, João pulled out his guitar and gave a mini acoustic concert, with everyone singing along in harmony, (or not) 😊

This is tourism—truly a box full of surprises!
