Not every flight carries passengers.

Some are dedicated to confirming that an aircraft is fully ready to return to service following maintenance.

Our Airbus A330-200, 9H-MFS, recently completed a post-maintenance check flight from Beja, where it was evaluated across a wide range of operating conditions by one of Hi Fly's specially qualified crews, with Commander Mirpuri at the controls, supported by First Officer Santiago Bicho and Engineer Nuno Garcia.

These flights are an important part of Hi Fly's in-house aircraft testing capabilities, allowing flight crews and engineers to verify the performance of critical systems and identify any potential issues before the aircraft returns to operations.

It's another example of the expertise and teamwork that help us maintain the highest standards of safety, reliability and operational excellence.

On World Oceans Day, we celebrate the most iconic aircraft ever to carry an environmental message around the world.

Hi Fly's "Save the Coral Reefs" Airbus A380 became a global ambassador for ocean conservation, taking its powerful message across five continents and reaching millions of people worldwide.

With its striking livery, it became one of the most photographed and recognised A380s ever to fly.

The aircraft achieved a remarkable series of milestones, including becoming the first A380 to land in Portugal, the first A380 to connect London and New York, and supporting humanitarian missions during the COVID-19 outbreak. In just two years, it visited 53 airports across 33 countries, making Hi Fly one of the world's leading A380 operators by destination count.

Today, the same commitment continues to guide us. As the world's first airline to operate single-use plastic-free flights, Hi Fly remains dedicated to reducing waste, protecting our oceans and helping build a more sustainable future for aviation.

Today we share the sad news of the passing of our Chairman and founder, Dr Paulo Mirpuri (1966-2026).

More than a visionary leader, he was an inspiring and deeply respected person who left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege to work with him. Known for his calm, his ability to listen, and his trust in people, he led with humanity, integrity and purpose.

Through his vision and determination, he built and grew the Group into the strong and trusted aviation partner it is today. His legacy lives on in the companies, in its people, and in the path ahead.

Over the past months, due to illness, leadership responsibilities were assumed by Vice Chairman Carlos Mirpuri, who will continue to lead the Group with stability, ensuring it remains strong, resilient and firmly on course.

The Group continues to operate with full continuity, maintaining its commitment to safety, reliability and excellence in service, with confidence in the future.

We honor his memory by carrying forward his vision with the same determination and sense of purpose.
