(EN) Industrial robotisation continues to expand and profoundly reshape the geography of production capacity. According to the “World Robotics 2026” report by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), around 603,000 industrial robots were installed worldwide in 2025, bringing the global stock of robots in operation to approximately five million.
Automation is thus playing an increasingly important role in industrial strategies, against a backdrop largely shaped by the pursuit of greater productivity and the reorganisation of supply chains.
China holds a particularly prominent position in this trend, accounting for 59% of new installations worldwide, with around 354,000 units. Indeed, the gap between China and other markets is considerable: the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Germany all record figures well below this level.
The presence of Chinese manufacturers reflects this development. In 2025, domestic suppliers accounted for 55% of installations in the country, reinforcing the link, within a single market, between high levels of technology adoption and domestic industrial capacity.
