The views across the city and over to the T***a Peninsula are some of the best in the region. But it’s the quiet inside the stone walls that really stays with you. It’s the perfect escape from the midday sun and a reminder that Portugal’s history is built into every hilltop. A must-stop for a bit of perspective before heading back down for lunch.

If you ask for "a coffee," you will get a small, strong espresso (um café). Want milk? Ask for a "Meia de Leite" (half milk, half coffee) or a "Galão" (mostly milk, served in a glass).
