"It has been wonderful experiencing the festive season here at V.Ships Gdynia, Poland" - says Ellis Woodland - Global Graduate.

And it true - our office has truly embraced the magic of Christmas, savouring delightful traditional food, enjoying an enchanting concert, and spreading joy through our noble charity efforts. The visit of our CSL Trimnes vessel allowed us to share a taste of Polish Christmas delights with the crew. Of course, we also celebrated with our own office secret Santa and a fun challenge with the wreath-making workshop.

Wishing all our V. colleagues a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year, and sending good health wishes to our seafarers spending Christmas on board.

Happy International Day of the Seafarer!

Today marks the on the theme . At V.Group, we believe the maritime industry must continue to work together to put the welfare of seafarers at the heart of all activity during these challenging times.

Throughout the pandemic, everyone at V.Group has worked relentlessly to maintain the wellbeing of our 44,000 seafarers and minimise the disruption to business operations. Our drive to raise awareness - to the world at large - of the vital role our industry plays in global trade, continues.

Seafarers play a significant role in ensuring the global economy is maintained. We’ll continue to fight for seafarer rights in recognition of the vital work crew carry out every day.

Forbes Diamonds Recognition for V.Ships Poland!

V.Ships Poland are proud to have been included by Forbes in their 2021 edition of “Forbes Diamonds”, which is an annual ranking of companies that have been most effective at increasing their value over the last three years.

For the thirteenth time, in consultation with the editors of Forbes, Bisnode Polska has prepared a list of the most dynamically developing companies in Poland. The companies on the list can boast the title of “Forbes Diamonds 2021”.

The ranking is prepared according to a Swiss method of company valuation. The key criteria taken into account is: financial results for 2015-19, the value of assets, history of payments, financial credibility and the lack of negative legal issues.

We are proud and honoured to have been given this recognition for the first time, which confirms our business credibility and the value of our brand.

V.Group has been working tirelessly with other industry stakeholders to ease the plight of seafarers. It has facilitated 10,282 crew movements in less than three months, (since 17th March) who had been stranded at sea due to the crew change crisis. The seafarers consisted of 92 nationalities from 795 vessels.

Allan Falkenberg, Managing Director of Crew Management at V.Group comments: “Reaching this milestone of 10,000 crew movements is testament to the global efforts of V.Group’s Crew Management and travel teams. By being fully committed to repatriating as many seafarers as possible, we’ve helped large numbers of crew reunite with their families or begin working on ships".

“With thousands still confined to vessels as a result of coronavirus restrictions, our crewing teams are working hard to identify all potential crew change opportunities at the ports our seafarers’ vessels are scheduled to visit. We remain hopeful that a solution can be found to the crew change challenge, which remains the number one issue facing the maritime industry.”

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping alliance informed that more than 100.000 seafarers are stranded at sea, due to the shutdowns which prevent them from entering, transiting countries or even finding flights so as to return home.

Graham Westgarth commented "Simply put, governments need to adopt mechanisms which allow unencumbered movement of seafarers to and from their vessels. The European Commission has issued guidelines to this effect. These should be adopted not only by EU members but on a global basis".

Failure to recognise seafarers as key workers will have catastrophic global consequence, the shipping industry being responsible to transport 92% of the world’s goods.
