Lok Virsa is an important place in Pakistan. It is also known as the National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage. This place is about taking care of Pakistans folk heritage. Lok Virsa is situated on the Shakarparian Hills in Islamabad. It has a museum called the Heritage Museum. This museum shows the history and culture of Pakistan. You can see things from parts of Pakistan here. The museum was opened in 1974. Later it became an organization. Today it is very big. Can hold over 3,000 visitors at the same time.
Main Exhibits and Collections:
The Heritage Museum has a lot of things to see. You can see clothes, handicrafts, musical instruments and other historical things. These things are from provinces of Pakistan like Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The museum shows the culture of Pakistan through these things. It is like a window to Pakistans heritage and history.

Lok Virsa has a lot to offer. It has a library with many books and research papers on Pakistani folklore. Lok Virsa also has a studio for folk music. This studio records songs and music. Lok Virsa teaches people about crafts and weaving. It also hosts festivals and music performances. People from over the world come to visit Lok Virsa.

If you want to visit Lok Virsa it is open from Tuesday to Sunday. The timings are from 10 AM to 6 PM. It is closed on Mondays. The food court and bazaars are open from 10 AM to 6 PM on weekdays. On weekends they are open till 10 PM.
