Shigar: Successful trophy hunting has been completed at the Askoli–Biafo Glacier area. According to the Wildlife Department Baltistan, a foreign hunter from Spain successfully hunted a Himalayan markhor with 40-inch horns, for which a permit was issued at the cost of 6,600 US dollars.

According to RFO Nooruddin, this is the first successful trophy hunt in the history of Askoli Braldo, and the second successful trophy hunt this year in Braldo Valley, Shigar. Eighty percent of the revenue generated from trophy hunting is given to the local community, while 20 percent is deposited into the government treasury.
