Sialkot International Airport marked Pakistan’s Independence Day with a series of commemorative activities held at the airport. Chairman SIAL Mr. Malik Abdul Ghafoor, Vice Chairman SIAL Mr. Syed Shahid Raza, esteemed Members of the Board of Directors, CEO SIAL AVM Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti (R), and the SIAL management participated in the celebrations. The day commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony held outside the International Terminal, followed by a formal ceremony at the International Departure Lounge. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman SIAL stated that the Nation marks Independence Day with profound gratitude, remembering the untiring and unprecedented sacrifices rendered by our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan. He expressed pride in the SIAL team and Federal agencies deployed at the airport, appreciating their continued dedication and tireless efforts in ensuring the best possible services/facilities to the passengers travelling through Sialkot Airport.

H.E, the Acting High Commissioner of South Africa to Pakistan, Pierre Jordaan, paid a visit to Sialkot International Airport, where he was warmly received by Chairman SIAL Mr. Malik Abdul Ghafoor, Vice Chairman SIAL Mr. Syed Shahid Raza, a Member of the Board of Directors, and CEO SIAL AVM Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti (R).
During the visit, Chairman SIAL Mr. Malik Abdul Ghafoor briefed H.E. the Acting High Commissioner Pierre Jordaan on the history, development, operations and evolving potential of Sialkot International Airport. Chairman SIAL highlighted the airport’s unique journey as Pakistan’s first privately owned international airport, established through the vision and collective efforts of the Sialkot business community. Expressing his views on the occasion, H.E. the Acting High Commissioner Pierre Jordaan stated: I am impressed by the Sialkot International Airport, which is undoubtedly a testament to SCCI and the business community of Sialkot. I am here for my second visit to Sialkot, and Sialkot has much to offer, and we learned a lot. I look forward to seeing direct flights from Sialkot to Johannesburg in the near future

Chairman SIAL, Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, met the Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, Mr. Awais Mushtaq. During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner Sambrial, Mr. Adnan Bashir; Vice Chairman SIAL, Mr. Syed Shahid Raza; former Chairman SIAL, Mr. Hassan Ali Bhatti; and Chief Executive Officer SIAL were also present. The discussion focused on matters related to airport functioning and close coordination with the District Administration. In Today`s EC meeting, Convenor SIAL Hajj Committee, Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, carried out balloting for Hajj. The balloting was carried out in a transparent and fair manner in the presence of the Chairman SIAL and the entire Executive Committee members.
