The Orange Line Metro will run on a 27.1-kilometer track, of which 25.4 kilometers will be elevated. The service will initially benefit around 250,000 passengers a day. The capacity will be increased to 500,000 passengers a day by 2025. Shahbaz Sharif on the occasion said like the Metro Bus Service, the metro train would also be run in other cities after Lahore. “The metro train will revolutionize the way people travel as it will make the commute trouble-free,”

چین کے صدر شی چن پنگ اور وزیر اعظم میاں نواز شریف نے کل 51 منصوبوں کا سنگ بنیاد رکھا ۔ ان منصوبوں جس میں سے ایک میٹرو اورنج لائن ٹرین ہے اس پر کل لاگت 1٫56ارب ڈالر آئے گی ۔ پنجاب حکومت نےٹرین سپلائی کرنے والی چین کی کمپنی سے 700 ملین ڈالر کم کرائے ہیں۔ اورنج ٹرین کے 24 سٹیشن ایلیویٹیڈ)زمین سے اوپر( اور دو زیر زمین ہوں گے ۔ ٹرین علی ٹائون ٹھوکر نیاز بیگ سے شروع ہو کر کینال ویو، وحدت روڈ ، بند روڈ ، سمن آباد، چوبرجی تک زمین کے اوپر جبکہ جی پی او چوک سے زیر زمین لکشمی چوک، ریلوے سٹیشن، انجینرنگ یونیورسٹی ، شالا مار باغ ، محمود بوٹی ، اسلام پارک پہنچے گی ، ٹرین کا آخری سٹیشن ڈیرہ گجراں ہو گا۔ ٹرین ہر آدھ گھنٹے بعد چلے گی ،27.1 کلومیٹر فاصلہ 40منٹ میں طے ہوگا ۔ ٹرین کے تقریبا 27 ڈبے ہوں گے، 24 گھنٹے میں سوا دو لاکھ لوگ اسٹرین میں سفر کریں گے ۔ پنجاب حکومت نے مئی میں سول ورکس شروع کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے ، منصوبے کوسات سیکشن میں دو سال کی مدت میں پورا کیا جائے گا۔

The governments of Pakistan and China on Thursday signed an agreement to start a metro train project in Lahore, Express News reported.
During an event in Shanghai, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed the agreement for the project.
The 27.1 kilometres long track – named Orange Line – will be built at the cost of $1.27 billion.
While speaking to the media after he signed the agreement, Shahbaz said it was a big day for the people of Pakistan.
“The metro train will revolutionize the way people travel as it will make the commute trouble-free,” he said.
