The Moon of Muharram Has Been Sighted
With the sighting of the crescent moon, a new Islamic year begins. For the lovers of the Ahlulbayt (AS), however, this moon also marks the beginning of days filled with remembrance, reflection, and mourning.
More than thirteen centuries ago, on the plains of Karbala, Imam Hussain (AS), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, stood with his family and a small group of loyal companions against the army of Yazid. Surrounded, denied water, and vastly outnumbered, they chose sacrifice over surrender and truth over tyranny, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire hearts across generations.
From the first night of Muharram until the day of Ashura, millions around the world gather to remember the unmatched courage, patience, and faith of the martyrs of Karbala. It is a month that calls us to reflect on justice, uphold dignity, and strengthen our connection with Allah ﷻ and the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (AS).
As the Muharram moon shines above us tonight, may it illuminate our hearts with sincerity, our lives with purpose, and our souls with the timeless message of Karbala.
Ya Hussain (AS)
