🕋 10 Lesser-Known Tips for Your First Umrah
1. Know Your Miqat Before You Fly
Don’t wait until you reach Saudi Arabia. Know when and where you need to enter Ihram before your journey begins.
2. Make a Dua List Before Leaving Home
Once you’re standing before the Ka’bah, emotions can take over. Write down the duas you want to make so you don’t forget them. 🤲🏻
3. You Don’t Need a Dua for Every Tawaf Lap
There isn’t a required special dua for each round. Make sincere dua, recite Qur’an, do dhikr, or speak to Allah from your heart.
4. Don’t Chase Hajr-e-Aswad
Never push or hurt others just to reach the Black Stone. If it’s crowded, gesture toward it from a distance and continue peacefully.
5. Save Your Hotel Location Offline
You may get separated from your group or lose internet access. Keep your hotel name, location and contact number saved somewhere accessible.
6. Choose a Meeting Point With Your Group
“Meet me at the Haram” is not specific enough. 😭 Pick a clear meeting point before entering.
7. Keep Your Phone Battery for What Matters
Maps, calls, group communication and emergencies may become important. Don’t let photos and videos drain your battery.
8. Don’t Turn Worship Into a Race
Everyone has a different pace. Walk calmly, take breaks when needed and don’t rush just because others are moving faster.
9. Prepare Unscented Essentials Before Ihram
Check your toiletries beforehand and keep fragrance-free options ready so you aren’t trying to figure everything out at the last minute.
10. Leave Some Space for Spontaneous Dua
Your Umrah doesn’t have to follow a perfect checklist. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones you didn’t plan. 🤍
