An important meeting was held with the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Gujranwala, under the leadership of President TAAG, Advocate Rana Khalid Parvez Khan, in which Additional Commissioner Faisal Sultan participated.

During the meeting, TAAG presented a strong and clear stance that no kind of Punjab Sales Tax should be imposed on travel agencies. The following key reasons were highlighted:

Travel agents are not the actual service providers; they only act as intermediaries, while the actual service is provided by the airline.
The full amount of an air ticket is not the income of the agent; only commission or service charges constitute their actual earnings.
Multiple government taxes (PK, AY, OW, DE/XD, etc.) and airline surcharges are already applied on every ticket, therefore imposing further tax would amount to double taxation.

TAAG emphasized that the travel industry is already operating on low margins, and such additional taxes would not only harm legitimate businesses but also encourage the growth of unregistered and illegal markets.

The Association clearly demanded that travel agencies should be completely exempted from this tax and that an immediate policy clarification should be issued in this regard.

PRA officials listened carefully to all the points raised and assured that the matter would be reviewed in detail and an appropriate decision would be made.

President TAAG, Adv. Rana Khalid Parvez Khan, held a productive and result-oriented meeting with Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul Khan (CPO Gujranwala), focusing on strengthening mutual cooperation, improving the travel industry, and taking effective measures against illegal travel agents and human smuggling.

During the meeting, various aspects of the proposed MoU were thoroughly discussed, aiming to promote safe and reliable travel services through authorized and registered travel agents, while ensuring adherence to legal procedures.

Furthermore, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration and joint efforts to eliminate illegal activities and promote a secure and well-regulated travel system.

President TAAG, Rana Khalid Pervez Khan, along with his delegation, held an important meeting with DD FIA Gujranwala Rana Shewaz, which was also attended by Muhammad Bin Ashraf Warraich.

During the meeting, key issues faced by the travel industry were discussed in detail. Special focus was given to the increasing problems of off-loading at airports, where passengers are being stopped for various reasons despite having complete and valid documentation. This situation not only causes serious inconvenience to passengers but also negatively impacts the reputation of travel agents. Emphasis was placed on the need for a clear and uniform policy, transparent procedures, and the elimination of unnecessary obstacles.

Furthermore, strict action against illegal travel agents, improvement in loading/off-loading matters at airports, proper scrutiny of complaints received against travel agents, and issues related to non-compliance with association directives were also discussed.

The President of TAAG reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the rights of members, ensuring compliance with the law, and establishing a well-organized and transparent business environment. FIA officials also assured their full cooperation and effective action to resolve these issues.

This meeting proved to be a positive and significant step towards addressing the challenges of the travel industry, improving sensitive matters like off-loading, and eliminating illegal activities.

TAAG (Travel Agencies Association of Gujranwala) کے زیرِ اہتمام گوجرانوالہ ڈویژن میں اوورسیز پروموٹرز کے ساتھ ایک اہم اور بامقصد اجلاس منعقد کیا گیا ✨، جس کی قیادت صدر TAAG Adv. Rana Khalid Parvez Khan اور سینئر نائب صدر Muhammad Arshad Butt نے کی۔

اجلاس میں اوورسیز پروموٹرز کو درپیش مختلف مسائل پر تفصیلی اور جامع گفتگو کی گئی 📊، خصوصاً Protector Office، مختلف ایمبیسیز اور Bureau of Emigration سے متعلقہ امور اور رکاوٹوں کو زیرِ بحث لایا گیا۔ شرکاء نے اپنے تجربات، مسائل اور تجاویز پیش کیں، جنہیں نہایت سنجیدگی سے سنا گیا 🤝۔

اس موقع پر ایک خصوصی یونٹ/کمیٹی تشکیل دی گئی 🏢 جس کا مقصد پروموٹرز کے مسائل کو منظم انداز میں متعلقہ اداروں تک پہنچانا اور ان کے حل کے لیے عملی اقدامات کرنا ہے۔ اس یونٹ کے عہدیداران کو واضح ذمہ داریاں سونپی گئیں تاکہ ہر معاملے پر بروقت فالو اپ یقینی بنایا جا سکے 📌۔

اجلاس کے دوران اس بات پر زور دیا گیا کہ Protector Office، ایمبیسیز اور Bureau of Emigration کے ساتھ مضبوط رابطہ اور مؤثر کوآرڈینیشن کے ذریعے مسائل کا پائیدار حل نکالا جائے اور اوورسیز بزنس کمیونٹی کو زیادہ سے زیادہ سہولت فراہم کی جائے 🚀۔

TAAG کی قیادت نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ وہ Travel Agencies Association کے پلیٹ فارم سے اپنے ممبران اور اوورسیز پروموٹرز کے حقوق کے تحفظ، مسائل کے حل اور کاروباری بہتری کے لیے ہر سطح پر بھرپور نمائندگی جاری رکھے گی 💼۔
