Aleson Shipping Lines, Inc FINALLY BACK in Service! Especially in the Zamboanga–Bongao Route Following Permit Suspension Lift

Aleson Shipping Lines is officially returning to sea service on its Zamboanga City to Bongao, Tawi-Tawi route starting Friday, August 14, 2026 under its new shipmangement operator: OSM Shipping Phils Inc.

The resumption comes after maritime authorities cleared the shipping company to operate passenger vessels under a new ship management operator which is poised to make major improvements and changes in its passenger and safety operations following a temporary permit suspension and fleet-wide safety audit earlier this year.

The suspension was imposed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) following the tragic sinking of the passenger-cargo vessel M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 off Basilan in late January 2026. During the suspension, MARINA and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted comprehensive inspections and safety audits of Aleson’s passenger fleet and crew.

With the lift of the operational suspension, the shipping line will once again deploy its vessels with its promise to make improvements under the new ship management to create better service for its passenger travel and essential cargo transport connecting mainland Zamboanga and the island province of Tawi-Tawi.

Passengers and cargo shippers are advised to check directly with official Aleson Shipping Lines ticketing outlets and port offices for updated sailing schedules, ticket availability, and revised boarding protocols.

Our client from the Office of the President booked two trucks from SNE Trucking Services — one delivery bound for Basilan and another for Jolo.

Together with the SNE team and the owner, we personally traveled to Basilan to oversee the delivery operations. After arriving in the afternoon, we immediately continued the journey and boarded again for Jolo, Sulu. The trip was tiring, but seeing the successful distribution of vegetables to the community made everything worth it. ❤️
