Only truckers understand being almost home... and still having to shut the truck down.
One driver burned through his entire 70-hour clock and ended up starting a 34-hour reset just 25 miles from his own house. Doesn't matter if your driveway is right down the highway — once the legal hours are gone, the truck has to stay parked.
A lot of people say, "Just run the last few miles." But if a driver goes over their hours and something happens on the road, investigators will look at that logbook first.
That's why some truckers spend a day and a half sitting in a truck stop... while home is practically within reach.
